Ingrid Jensen Tickets

This was an absolutely marvelous concert. The university jazz band was in great form, an there is not much to say about one of the profession's top musician. Apart from her uncanny ability to string together chords at the top of the octave, and finger quicker than perhaps any other player, it was wonderful to see someone interact so positively with the university band - as if she had practiced with them for days. And they showed that influence with their inspired playing. The downside is that the university allowed the whole back middle section of the auditorium to be completely void of people. The reason I was given is that those 80-100 seats were saved for students. There was one student there at the beginning, and 5-6 part-way though the concert. When we booked our tickets in early January, the seating map showed nearly sold out. I wonder how many thousands of dollars were lost, and how many people never booked, as a result. The policy is simply ludicrous. Nothing like those number of seats would ever have been used by students, and why not save them some seats at the sides rather than the middle of the auditorium. What a shame for the performers to see that vast empty space in the middle!
