Detroit Pistons History
One of the most storied franchises in NBA history, the Pistons moved to Detroit in 1957 from Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they were owned by Fred Zollner and known as the Fort Wayne (Zollner) Pistons. The Pistons played at Olympia Stadium for four years, then moved to Cobo Arena. In 1974, Bill Davidson purchased the team, and in 1978, the team began playing at the Pontiac Silverdome.
Prior to the start of the 1988–89 season, the Pistons moved to play at The Palace of Auburn Hills and won back-to-back NBA Championships in 1989 and 1990 with the "Bad Boys" teams. Detroit's "Goin' to Work" squad picked up the franchise's third NBA Championship in 2004 in the midst of making six consecutive trips to the Eastern Conference Finals.
In addition to the numerous team accomplishments, the Pistons also have had a list of great players and coaches who have contributed to the team's long history of success. Detroit has retired jersey numbers for Chuck Daly (2), Isiah Thomas (11), Joe Dumars (4), Dave Bing (21), Bob Lanier (16), Dennis Rodman (10), Vinnie Johnson (15), Bill Laimbeer (40), Ben Wallace (3), Chauncey Billups (1) and Richard Hamilton (32). Daly, Thomas, Dumars, Bing, Lanier, Rodman and Davidson all have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena
Little Caesars Arena (LCA) is home to the Detroit Pistons, as well as the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. It also hosts other sporting events, concerts, family shows and trade shows year-round.
Built in 2017, LCA is the centerpiece of a 50-block sports and entertainment area known as The District Detroit. The District Detroit unites eight world-class theaters, five neighborhoods and three professional sports venues in one vibrant, walkable destination for people to live, work and enjoy exciting entertainment in an urban environment. By housing the Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers (MLB), and Lions (NFL), Detroit holds the unique distinction of being the only city in the country to house four professional sports franchises in one downtown area.
The Detroit Pistons’’ 2023–24 regular season kicks off in October at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, when the Pistons face off against the Miami HEAT. The Pistons host their home opener against the Chicago Bulls on October 28. The Pistons play their final game of the regular season at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas against the San Antonio Spurs. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:

The Detroit Pistons have made seven appearances in the NBA Finals, and won in 1989, 1990 and 2004.

First time attending the games since they moved downtown. Upper Bowl was cramped no room to move. Attended my second game was sure to get lower bowl seats and was happy with the seats. Our third game is lower than the second and can’t wait to experience that as well. I will say every where I sat has been a good view of the court. Good experience plan on being a regular in the future. GO PISTONS and just play Detroit Basketball.
We had a great time! Speedy entry time, prices were fair compared to most arenas. Took two kids and they had a blast since it was kids day.
Not a great venue for guy with bad knees. Bad seating with no room.
We went to the Pistons vs Grizzlies game to celebrate our daughter Jade's 6th birthday. Before the game started she met and took photos with the Pistons cheerleaders, got to dance with the boys and girls, met Hooper, and received a Pistons t-shirt and Pizza during the game! She was so excited and we were even on the jumbo and television broadcast! When we got home, she said Daddy this was the best birthday ever! Thank you Pistons!

Great Experience at Little Caesars Arena! Wonderful time at the Motor City Club in LCA
Although Detroit lost the game, I enjoyed the total experience.
The game was great and LCA is a really cool venue with awesome amenities. The only negative is that a large portion of the seats are smaller than airplane seats. There is no elbow room and you have to sit forward in your seat or hope the person next to you does so that you can have some breathing room. Other seats in the lower bowl area are perfectly normal size and no complaints.
This was my husband’s and I first time at a pistons game since they’ve been downtown and we definitely enjoyed it! We had good seats and the price was reasonable. Definitely plan on attending another game soon
There's always something on the floor to keep one's attention and the Pistons were playing great and won the game.
Very good for the kids but the pistons must need a new coach
It was easier than expected and efficient. This will now be the only route I will go now. Parking is us offered. Sure prices are up like everything else in this world, I'm very satisfied

it was so fun i had went to it but just don’t sit in back. it was so fun
I took my 12 yr old son and 15 yr daughter and they had a great time and so did I. The parking and food was pricey and so was the event for 3 so that’s why I go every few years instead of every year.
I was a okay experience it was very expansive for the food and parking. That’s why I take my son every few years not every year.
Great, the staff was great, the food was awesome, the game itself was awesome and a fun game to watch after not going to one in a while
