Not what was expected. Let down.

    by Dusty on 11/27/23

What I thought I was going to see is the Atlanta symphony orchestra highlighted while they played excerpts from home alone. What you actually get is a large movie screen over the Atlanta symphony orchestra on a flat stage. You can barely see the symphony as they played along with the movie. You cannot tell that the movie soundtrack is any different. I was very let down. I ended up spending $160 for me and my wife to sit and watch a movie we have seen thousands of times with a bunch of strangers tucked in the very tight seats while you can't tell the symphony is even playing. We left at intermission. Very disappointed and upset. Even cried. I wish I had that money back for Christmas for my kids.

    Just a 60$ movie

    by Dusty on 11/26/23

I understand it's home alone. What I thought I was going to see is the symphony play selections from the different movies and a focus on the symphony. What actually happens is you watch a movie on a big movie screen above the symphony. They play along with the movie. I couldn't tell the symphony was playing. It sounds like it does when you watch the movie at home. I was very disappointed. I felt like I paid $60 to watch an old movie shoved into tight seats with a bunch of strangers. I wanted to see the symphony the main focus of the event. The screen overshadowed the symphony. We left halfway during intermission. Really dissatisfied. It was lame. I wish I had the money back to spend on Christmas.

A fun introduction to the Christmas season!

by Judy on 12/1/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

The movie is as funny today as it was in the 1990’s. The resourceful little boy keeps a couple thieves at bay with hilarious consequences until his family finally makes it home to “rescue” him! A sweet note in the plot shows a how scary, misunderstood old man becomes reconciled with his family. The boy befriends him and they each receive a gift of warmth and affection as befitting Christmas.

    Fabulous

by LaurieO on 12/1/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

This was our second year to attend this event. The first time, our son performed (second trombone) with the ASO which was how we learned about it. The concept is brilliant. Hearing the music score performed live while the movie was playing enhanced the experience so much. It really got me and my family in the Christmas spirit. And we now have a holiday tradition.

    HomeAlone in style

by VAnnababy on 11/30/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Seeing HomeAlone with the symphony was so amazing. The live music made the movie more exciting and my grandson loved see all the instruments playing yin sync. What a great way to start the holiday season

Wonderful movie and an amazing orchestra!

by JB on 11/30/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

The performance was fabulous! What wasn’t so good is the fact that in the balcony the seats are very small and people were up and down several times during the performance and not just at intermission. I think it may have something to do with the fact that concessions/drinks were for sale and the audience could bring it all in to the seating areas. Also, the air movement was non existent and the stifling air really made it uncomfortable for many. The performance and the musicians really made it all worthwhile and the audience was very gracious with its applause and accolades at the end of the music!

    Awesome Time!

by Gaboon on 11/30/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Really enjoyed the show! The movie is obviously a classic and experiencing the orchestra live enhanced the experienced and helped me appreciate the move and arrangement even more so. I'd love to see more shows like these...perhaps Hans Zimmer or Brian Tyler shows as well.

    Not just for the kids!

by JeePee on 11/30/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Not just for the kids!!!! My boyfriend and I made seeing Home Alone at the Atlanta Symphony Hall a date. We bought home alone themed pajamas and wore decorative lights. We also enjoyed an adult beverage with candy purchased at the concession. It was great watching a childhood classic with the symphony. Hope to see another movie/symphony soon.

    Holiday Cheer

by Nate F. on 11/30/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Absolutely an amazing time. From the valet to concessions stands, to the venue and orchestra themselves was superb. For my wife and I first experience its definitely a recommend to the rest of the family. Added bonus no matter where your seat is its a great view.
