The show overall was good. While it started 30 minutes late, and I understand there are unforeseen circumstances that can lead to it, the music played during the wait was unnecessarily loud. We felt like we were at a stadium rock concert. Both my wife and I are sensitive to loud noises and it became very uncomfortable very fast. If we knew, we would have brought hearing protection.
The opening act was very funny. He was a great lead in to Hasan.
Hasan was very good as well, bringing in insightful observations about family, culture, and society from an Asian perspective. This is his unique specialty.
We saw Patriot Act on Netflix and The King’s Jester live and loved them because we felt like we learned something about him and his experiences that involved unfair treatment and discrimination.
While I understand artists need to try new things, as he did in Off With His Head, I think the heart and empathy of those previous shows are his sweet spot.
