ART LABOE IN CONCERT:
Iconic American radio DJ Art Laboe is, to use a term from his own phrasebook, a quintessential "oldie but goodie." A staple on airwaves for more than half a decade, Laboe has become a veritable radio institution with his familiar baritone voice and friendly on-air demeanor. A bulwark of old school values in an increasingly trend-hungry pop landscape, Laboe once again pays honor to the classics in 2014 at his annual block party, featuring a star-studded lineup of acts including The S.O.S Band, Klymaxx, and Evelyn Champagne King.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Salt Lake City in 1925, Art Laboe started his first radio show from a Los Angeles drive-in restaurant, taking down requests and giving on-air dedications. Tracking the popularity of songs through the requests he received, Laboe assembled and released Oldies But Goodies in 1959, the first compilation album of hit songs in American history. An tireless LA radio presence throughout the '60s and '70s, Laboe received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July 17, 1981 — a day the city now recognizes as "Art Laboe Day." After more than half a century on the air, Laboe continues to treat audiences to his signature old school charm each night on the nationally syndicated Art Laboe Connection.

The show was great. However the bathrooms. No security keeping people from cutting lines. No one sold shirts or souvenirs. Years ago when I would attend there would be music playing and ways to win backstage tickets or shirts. Totally not organized well.

I bought The lawn seats cause i heard Those were the best, being part of the crowd. Then we decided to upgrade to VIP CLUB and while, it’s nice to have a separate section, it sucks cause you can’t see the show from there. It’s behind the stage. Yes, there’s like 3 small screens but you can’t hear it over the dj. Was also told there was speciality food not available to others. Ummm like a scoop of spaghetti. What you’re paying for are bathrooms, the “waitress” came once. There was NO VIP EXPERIENCE! At all!!! The vip parking was nice. It was close. But i heard Horrible stories about it taking hours to get out so we left early.
The artist and concert was amazing, however there were so many people and not even restrooms, we literally had to wait in line for 30 mins just to use the restroom, also lines for drinks and food was also a long wait, they didn't have control of the crowd in the beginning, people were everywhere were they didn't belong, till nearly the end the security finally got control
All of the performers were amazing and it was such a fun time. Vibe was great during the whole show. Only downfall was afterwards, the staff’s inability to help direct us to the right parking lot for Uber/Lyft pick up. Took almost an extra hour to get back to the hotel because of all the extra walking different employees had us do as they directed us to all of the numerous wrong parking lots. But overall a fun weekend.
Line for the girls restroom was ridiculous. Almost 30 mins waiting in line
Great concert however parking @$40 is ridiculous. Will return next year but hopefully parking goes back to something reasonable.
This show was differently better than last year. Last year was over at 930 and it seemed as the artist were rushed on the stage. This the artist were more free spirt and they really got to show what they are all about. I go every for my birthday and I love it. I hope next yesr is better this this . So looking forward
All the groups was good seating arrangement was nice, the people was cool the beer and drink was too high. But overall the concert was great
Noncrowd control. I paid good money for.my ticket..just to have people stand in front of me so i couldnt see. We were down in the front
The whole show was great! My son and i really enjoyed ourselves! And we cant wait for next year!
My crew always enjoys themselves. Each year we’ve gone has been a great time. Something we look forward to every year.
This is my 16th year attending the Art Laboe show live, it started off with the Rock and Roll Gangster "Alon" and ended with *Zapp" every year I look forward to seeing this show although I missed one a few years ago not missing another, I was sitting in Orchestra 3 Row E Seat 5 so that was a pretty good seat always look forward to Art Laboe and his wardrobe changes, I took a Lyft to the show and took a Lyft back home I always have a blast at the Art Laboe show, I can't wait to see next years show #18 at Glen Helen Amphitheatre
Took my sisters to the show. It was their first time. We had an awesome time and it's unforgettable. Everyone was wonderful. They sang from their hearts. Nobody will forget it Art Lavoe still looks good. He is amazing. We love him.
Loved the 5 different groups. Seats were Great and took my Husband & I down memory lane.
Took me back to my teenage years and the memories of who I was being with at that time. One thing about music and me....I can associate who and what I was doing by the year and the song at times of my life. I'm remarried now to a man that does not know this genre of music and he was surprised that I knew every lyric! I have been married to this man for 20 years and told him that night many details of the chapters of my life during the seventies!!! Also, mi gente and Viva La Raza is something he did not understand.....a cultural thing!!!! Also, when Suavicito and Sabor A Mi was played I informed him that these two songs were Chicano, Hispanic, and Latino love songs worldwide!!!
THE CONCERT WAS TOO QUICK AND SHORT IT SUCKED AT THIS PLACE
Thanks to Art Laboe my husband n I got to listen to amazing artists from the past. The music was amazing. I have never been the this venue. I was very impressed on the seating. You had a great view from any seat in the area. I can’t wait until the next one. Keep me posted!!!
I have to say that the concert was great, my wife & I had a great time. But the location is far from Vegas, and to UBER/Lyft back/forwarth would be expensive.
It was my first time to an Art Laboe show and I was really excited because I’ve never been to one. It’s sad to say I was really disappointed because it ended so early I only enjoyed Tierra and Mc magic I was expecting more
