About

Ari Shaffir is an American standup comedian. In addition to his numerous appearances on the Joe Rogan podcast, he is best known for his last special, "Jew," which has garnered almost 6 million views and was written up in The NY Times in its list of best specials of the year. You might also know Ari from the storytelling show he created and hosted on Comedy Central called "This Is Not Happening." Ari also has a Netflix special called "Double Negative" and a Comedy Central special called "Paid Regular." Ari Shaffir has also appeared on WTF with Marc Maron, The Adam Carolla show, Your Mom's House, 2 Bears 1 Cave, Theo Von's podcast, Andrew Schulz's podcast, TigerBelly, and many many more. These appearances have made him a favorite in the comedy podcast world. His own podcast, Ari Shaffir's Skeptic Tank is a chart topper that comes out every week wherever you watch or listen to podcasts. Ari is the reigning president of the LOS podcast to which he has no affiliation. And he placed first in the non-steroid category of the legendary Sober October challenge, which he also destroyed shortly thereafter so he could found Protect Our Parks with Shane Gillis and Mark Normand which he fooled Joe Rogan into hosting.

The deal is, this is a dirty show. It's not completely offensive but definitely some parts are offensive. So don't bring that one friend in your friend group who makes that tsk noise a lot. Just tell them you're doing something else or your grandmother died or your grandmother killed somebody and you gotta be a character witness. Whatever. Just don't bring them. But everybody else for sure come. Ari puts on a hilarious show every year of all new material and he brings amazing openers. So it's just a really funny night of legit mainstream standup and you're going to have a great time every time.

Can't wait for the next one.

by C Foles on 1/14/20Buckhead Theatre presented by Cricket Wireless - Atlanta

Excellent show that Ari kept going past his time. Ari was funny and engaging with the crowd. His jokes were current and anyone could find relation and a laugh in them. The price was perfect but i wld easily pay more to watch him perform. I wld see his show anytime he returns to Atl or I'm in an area he is in.

    Better than expected

by Gonzo5699 on 1/14/20Buckhead Theatre presented by Cricket Wireless - Atlanta

I took my wife to see the show she was not really a fan of Ari to begin with, and I was kind of skeptical on how much she might enjoy it, The openers were both good and Ari killed, just under 2 hours of comedy hilarious informative in some ways just a great night The venue was fantastic first time I've been to the Buckhead theater since it was the Roxy.

    This show was awesome!!

by Taylor Delcambre on 1/13/20Fillmore New Orleans - New Orleans

This was my first time going to a comedy show, along with my boyfriend's first time as well. We LOVE Ari Shaffir's work on YouTube and Netflix, etc. So naturally we were stoked to see him live in one of our favorite places on Earth, NOLA! He did not disappoint and neither did the venue! The Filmore was amazing as well. Thanks to everyone for making this event so great and enjoyable!!

    Really cool venue, great comedians

    by S. on 1/18/19Sixth & I - Washington

Really fun event and great stories. I think the security should have acted more quickly and expedited removing the guy who was ruining the show, but the comedian on stage at that time was awesome, stone face. Would go again !

    This guy KILLS!

by Mad4Vikings on 6/30/18Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

I went to see Ari Safir without knowing much about him. It was a sell out crowd at Cobb's, which is not that common. Ari himself came on and gave it up. He kept us laughing our asses off for more than 90 minutes. This guy is seriously funny. I would see him again in a NY minute...even if he told the same jokes!

    Lived Up to the Hype!

by SFComedyFan408 on 6/26/18Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Great show! Came in with high expectations after dying laughing at his two Netflix specials, and needless to say he came with it and crushed the show in SF at Cobb's. His approach to the set was great, and mixed things up and even had some great interactions with the crowd. Well worth the price of admission and had a great time.

    Lazy, not funny act

by Maribel89 on 6/26/18Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

So disappointing. His entire set was spent on describing Jewish traditions and then basically mocking them. He put in no effort crafting a joke. I saw Scott Capurro recently whose set included jokes about everyone- Jews, Muslims, Christians, gays, straights - and he was hysterical. Ari’s show was the laziest act I’ve ever seen. Makes me wonder what happened to him in his life that he was willing to waste his entire time on set in an effort to ridicule one religion. Waste of time and money.

    AMAZING

by TommyCliche on 6/25/18Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

I love comedy on a crazy level and I will say Ari is not a run of the mill comedian. That is a big reason why I loved it so much. He did jokes, but a big part of his set was actually teaching people about the Jewish faith that he grew up with and tell people about the traditions that no one talks about since he, at one point in his life, was actually on track to be a Rabbi. He took questions and talked to the audience- which not a lot of comedians do, so you felt very connected with him. I ended up meeting him after the show too which made it even more special.

    Ari Shaffir is Hilarious

by Ebit14 on 6/25/18Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Ari Shaffir was hilarious and entertaining. We saw him before and couldn’t stop laughing but his newest show is even better. Our group of 6 laughed the entire time. We brought a couple of people new to comedy and they want to come again thanks to the great performance of Ari Shaffir. Cobb’s is a great place for comedy too - you’re not as packed together as some other venues, the service is quick and the food is good.

    Show was really good

    by MoeMoe22 on 1/30/18The Wilbur - Boston

The show was funny and the seats were good. The bathroom was really tight even for a petite person. Overall not a bad venue.

    Such a good show!

by AROFD on 1/30/18The Wilbur - Boston

Great venue! The show was fantastic. Ari Shaffir and his opening acts really know how to kill it. I was laughing so hard and rocking in my seat so much that the lady behind me said that her knees were hurting. Sorry lady.

Watch the opening acts and then leave!

    by NotImpressed112233 on 1/30/18The Wilbur - Boston

I was so excited for this show because I love inappropriate humor. The first two openers were incredible, most of the audience was crying laughing. Ari had some funny moments but some things just went too far. He has a pretty long joke about the Vegas shootings and people getting shot in the head, nothing about that is funny. He had some definite funny moments but overall some of his material lost the crowd and he didn’t seem to read it. I should have left after the openers...

Hack comedian who I find boring and not funny at all. Wishes he was CK or Burr but just isn't funny. Save your money.
