ANTHONY GREEN IN CONCERT:
Whether he's fronting beloved post-hardcore outfit Circa Survive or performing his introspective solo material with an acoustic guitar, veteran performer Anthony Green always mesmerizes with his heart-on-sleeve lyrics and dynamic voice. The ever-prolific singer-songwriter released his third solo album Young Legs in 2013, thrilling fans with a progressive collection of songs that combined indie rock, emo, reggae, and even country influences to arrive at a wholly unique sound. At his live shows Green brings his material to life with highly personal anecdotes that reveal him to be a refreshingly unguarded soul. Whether he's singing along to the twangy slide guitar of "Shine" or the bouncing backbeat of "Anytime", he treats ticket buyers to a heartfelt live experience that lets the authenticity of his emotions and the craftsmanship of his songwriting really shine.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Anthony Green has been fronting alt-rock bands since his high school days in the late-'90s. The Holland, PA-born singer-songwriter released albums with a variety of outfits including Audience of One, Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, and High and Driving, but he really hit his stride with the post-hardcore bands Saosin and Circa Survive. As frontman of Circa Survive, Green became a veritable post-hardcore icon, releasing five critically and commercially successful albums and touring the world several times over. He made his solo debut in 2008 with Avalon, an album of hushed indie rock songs that displayed his gentler side. Since then he's continued to perform with both Circa Survive and Saosin in addition to releasing two more solo albums -- 2012's Beautiful Things and 2013's Young Legs. A veteran performer known for his emotional live shows, Green continues to move fans on his unforgettable tours.
I love this man!!! He played the entire album and about half of his new!!!!!
If you dig Anthony Green, it doesn't matter if he's playing a street corner, a church, a shoebox venue or an amphitheater, he is ALWAYS an act not to miss!
Anthony Green does it again! He really is one of the best. Throws his energy out into the crowd giving each person ALL the feels! This is a show that I would never pass up. The Paradise has poor equipment this time around and did not fix the guitar sound properly, but it wasn’t even needed b/c Anthony just sang to us and made us forget there was ever an issue. His voice really does get better with age! Simply AMAZING! I still have the chills.
Anthony Green is known for his intimate acoustic shows. The 10 year anniversary of Avalon was special to me and many others in the crowd, I’m sure. Hearing new songs live for the first time gave me goosebumps. See. Him. On. Tour.
Too much of the opening act. Once he started it improved.
Anthony Green continues to sound more and more incredible live.
Show was fantastic great performance as always by Anthony and company. First time seeing gooo old war. Loved them and all their music. Just extremely hot in the venue but water was provided thankfully.
Anthony Green was absolutely amazing. The crowd interaction, the banter, the sheer talent. The music was amazing, acoustics phenomenal, crowd was great
Anthony Green is in the category of a true born performer. He is one of my favorite artists and his lyrics and voice affect me at a very deep level.
What a great venue for this show, just the right size and sound. Will definitely be keeping a closer eye out for shows at the Teregram from now on. Such an unforgettable and fun night singing along with Anthony and a room his long-time fans!!
I've always been an avid listener of Circa Survive but I only found out about his solo project quite recently. I'm glad I did since his solo projects are a lot more understated and personal. It's obvious that this is pretty much his baby. Really cool dude to see live. I would definitely go see him again.
I had such a good time seeing Anthony Green. Secret Space were an awesome opening act, with incredible vocals and you could see just how much they loved what they did. I enjoyed how diverse Mat Kerekes' group were. Anthony himself was utterly wonderful, really personable and cracked me up throughout his set. The energy he brought on stage with him was indescribable.
The title speaks for itself. The opening acts were so bad and kept spitting on people on accident but Anthiny Green seemed to control it better. The best part is how he really looks out in the crowd and tries to make eye contact with the fans to make the experience unforgettable and more personal. The only bad thing is that he doesn't really talk much, he just goes song to song and doesn't really connect with the audience in that aspect. He just curses like "f*** yea!!!" And then starts playing the next song.
5th time seeing Anthony Green and every show I've ever been to has been a beautiful experience
Anthony Green can put on an amazing show. He had the crowd involved and can somehow sound even more incredible live. The small venue made it intimate. One of the best concerts I've been to.
............................But more exciting! Way more!
The show was amazing. Psychic Babble was just awesome on stage, Colin really has some major talent as an artist and as a singer :) Dave Davidson. Has a very unique voice. Really loved his performance, I really wanted to get a CD or something so I could listen to his works :) And of course, Anthony Green was just magical. His voice is breathtaking and he just makes you feel so happy and just gives you good vibes. Defenitely had a fun time.
This was a good show. We didn't love Pyschic Babble but Dave Davidson of Cast Spells was awesome and so was Anthony Green.
Absolutely phenomenal show all around, from the opening band to the encore, five stars, two thumbs up, and all that good stuff
His openers were just as amazing as him! Such a great time.
