Ann Wilson on Tour

Widely regarded as one of the greatest vocalists of all time, Ann Wilson is back to remind the world why she is the queen of the rock and roll stage. A true icon, Wilson is known around the blog as lead singer and songwriter of the groundbreaking rock band, Heart, who have thrilled audiences far and wide for over four decades. Following the release of her 2022 solo album, Fierce Bliss, Wilson is hitting the road to rock hearts across the U.S. with her one-of-a-kind voice and classic songs. Inspired by legendary American rock singer Janis Joplin, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has maintained classic showmanship over the years, going on tours and even venturing to the big screen in a feature film about her life with the 2017 documentary, Ann Wilson: In Focus. With one of the most powerful vocal ranges in music, Wilson has perfectly blended rock, opera, pop, and folk music, resulting in the versatility of her sound. Ann Wilson Live in Concert

Ann Wilson was born in San Diego, California, but due to the nature of her father's military career -- a former Marine who was also a musician and singer who once led the U.S. Marine Corps band -- the Wilson family moved around a lot before settling in Seattle, Washington. Ann Wilson first gained fame in the 1970s as the lead singer for Heart, the rock band formed in 1963 by bassist Steve Fossen and brothers Roger Fisher and Mike Fisher. In 1974, Ann's sister, Nancy Wilson, joined the band on guitar. With her powerful vocals, Ann Wilson scored several hits for Heart, including "Crazy on You" and "Magic Man" -- both of which were co-written by the Wilson sisters -- from the band's debut album, Dreamboat Annie. Heart went on to sell more than 35 million records and earned an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

In 2007, Ann Wilson released her first solo album, Hope and Glory, featuring inventive covers of songs by artists who inspired her own music. The album features guest appearances by artists including Shawn Colvin, Elton John, Wynonna Judd, Alison Krauss, k.d. lang, and Rufus Wainwright. Her sophomore solo album, 2018's Immortal, features unique covers of songs by artists who have passed on, including David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Chris Cornell, Tom Petty, Amy Winehouse, and more. In 2022, Wilson released her third solo album, Fierce Bliss. Ann Wilson continues to be considered as one of the greatest singers of all time, paving the way for new generations of female rock vocalists.

Great show! Only suggestion is Ann pick more songs to stretch her wonderful voice a little instead of belting nearly every song. I love her singing full blast but mixing it up would be nice.

Ann Wilson has the most amazing voice!!!

by TRufus on 3/20/17Stiefel Theatre - Salina

If you ever get an opportunity to see this woman live, most definitely take it! She does some of the older Heart songs with a slightly different arrangement, and some songs by other artists that have influenced her over the years. Not too many people can out-sing Roger Daltrey on a Who song, but she did. She put on a full 2 hour show, complete with 3 encores! Such an amazing voice!

    Ann Wilson Mesmerizes!

by KatInLA on 3/15/17The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Ann Wilson's new solo tour is not to be missed. Her show at the Wiltern Theatre in LA was a series of non-stop amazing musical moments. The setlist was a mix of some Heart favorites, along with some great rock'n'roll standards and just plain old "standards". Ann's voice is at the top of her game. She has to be the very best rock and roll belt singer on the planet! This show is a must see!

Ann Wilson is amazing! Great show!

by AnnFannnn on 3/11/17Moore Theatre - Seattle

This show blew our socks off! Ann was very "on" and really rocked the house. I was so excited to hear her sing Heart songs that are not commonly performed and she sang some covers that were richly done. For those who only want hits, there are still quite a few in there. However, this show is for those who appreciate Ann Wilson's vocals as she really wowed everything she sang. Thanks ANN!!!!

    Ann Wilson - Hometown Love

by zolyvi on 3/11/17Moore Theatre - Seattle

I quit going to concerts at large venues many years ago. I am not looking for flashing lights, explosions, distracting dancers, or lip-syncing. If I am paying for a concert ticket I want to see someone that actually knows how to sing. Ann Wilson definitely knows how to sing and she definitely doesn't need any explosions or distracting dancers to provide her audience with entertainment.Frankly if I were one of the many young, auto-tuned singers of today and I attended her show, I would just quit . . . just quit and go do crayon drawings or wait tables. Ann is one of the first female power rock singers and frankly will probably be the last. They truly don't come along very often and the rarity of watching and hearing someone like Ann sing is a privilege for the ears and the brain. Thanks Ann for just standing on the stage and doing what you do so very, very well. It was an amazing night of hometown love.

Great Show, But Don't Expect Any Heart Songs

by StockMaven on 10/1/16Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Had I known before hand that his was going to be a set of covers and her solo music I probably wouldn't have paid the high price to sit in the front. Don't get me wrong, the show was great, but I expected a smattering of Heart songs intertwined throughout. The lead guitarist and drummer are from Heart, so I thought, what the heck. Let's throw in a few Heart songs. Ann was also guzzling a lot of hot tea and honey, so I'm thinking she either was straining her voice or had a cold.

    Ann Wilson Thing

by Boomer1063 on 10/1/16Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Ann's voice today as when Barracuda was on the radio every hour! The show was more of a jazz or blues type of a presentation of her talent which was not just refreshing but showed her personal interest in music! Awesome stuff!

    What a voice!!

by Ojlucy on 3/28/16Whitaker Center - Harrisburg

If you are hoping to hear Heart songs, you will be disappointed. If you are going to hear Ann's strong, distinct voice, you will be delighted. She was personable. Her band was great. I think I only knew 2 of the 14 or so songs she sang. Normally that would be a problem for me, but I was in awe of her and her voice the entire 90 mins. Sitting in the 2nd row may have helped the experience, but if you truly love Ann Wilson's style and sound, you will not be disappointed. The only thing that was a "problem" was a photographer who literally walked around on stage while the show was happening. This was a bit of a distraction at times. I hope she buys a telephoto lens for the rest of the tour.

    Greatest female voice ever!

by chefmike on 3/26/16Whitaker Center - Harrisburg

Not to oversell it but Ann Wilson is absolutely the best female vocalist in the history of music! Her side gig away from Heart, The Ann Wilson Thing, is a chance for her to perform covers of some her favorite and most poignant songs from other artists. There isn't one song in the setlist that she doesn't do justice to. Don't go expecting any Heart songs as you will be disappointed. Instead, go in with expectations of hearing a woman who will showcase any incredible range of styles. Anyone with an appreciation of Ann's legedary voice or simply a fan of great music can't help but be impressed.

Was impressed with Ann's range of style. She stepped away from the 'Heart' thing and did it her way. Her voice is so awesome, but her highs are screechy, I would suppose because of her age. That being said, she is incredible for her age. I also didn't quite understand the dark thread that ran through the show. She's fought more demons than I was aware of, I guess. Would definitely go see her again, cause it's Ann Wilson, and she'll always be my favorite female rock n roll singer!!!!! I love you Ann!!!!
