by Sidforpeace on 6/11/10Town Hall - New York

Well put together show, progression of show well thought out, lots of laughter, and thought provoking songs. Their talent is amazing! Also loved the personal stories, felt like we got to know these two women. Several songs made me cry, they were sung with so much emotion. Highly recommend it.

    The Callaways are amazing!

by PhilGeier on 6/9/10Town Hall - New York

As always, they were wonderful. Whenever they sing together, it's even better. The repartee between them makes it a real evening. I only wish I could see it again!

Ann and Liz Callaway - an electrifying duo!

by CincinnatiSheila on 6/7/10Town Hall - New York

This show ranked with the very best evenings of entertainment I have ever enjoyed in NYC (and I have spent a lot of evenings in a lot of theaters there)! My husband and I were blown away by the Callaway sisters talent, the pacing of the show and OMG, the music we heard. AMAZING! We would "sell the farm" if we had the opportunity to see this show again... damn near anywhere in the USA!

    The evening was fun

by robbyboop on 6/6/10Town Hall - New York

What a pleasant and enjoyable evening was had by everyone who attended the Ann Hampton Callaway and Liz Callaway concert at The Town Hall last Friday. The rapport between the sisters and between the sisters and the audience was magical.

    Boom

by nedette on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

One of the best musical shows we have ever seen. Most appropriate for people 45 and up. You cannot decide which sister has the more powerful, gifted, spell binding voice.

Boom was the best yet of these sisters!

by gebu on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

The songs, the voices, the harmony, the musical arrangements and the musicians made this show a must see. There was no sibling rivalry but a mutual caring and understanding between Liz Callaway and her sister Ann Hampton Callaway. The audience was treated to a superb show and they responded accordingly. Kudos to these two terrific women. It was a gift to us all to experience them.

Ann & Liz are explosive in BOOM!

by BigBlonde on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

Liz Callaway and Ann Hampton Callaway run their way around memories of the music of the sixties and seventies -- and create wonderful new memories along the way. Ann's singing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" is the sexiest performance of the year on a New York Stage. Truly steamy. Worth the drive from Boston just for the show and would do it again in a heartbeat. Can't wait for the performance at Sanders in January.

    callaway sisters what a team

by ladyphantom on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

Liz Callaway and Ann Hampton Callaway both have different style in music but they have one thing in common, they both have amazing outstanding voices. their singing, their jokes, the love they have for each other, really make for a great night. the show was only 65 or less, and for a new york show - with two great singers seem far too cheap. if you ever have the chance to see one of their act they are a must see, but put the two of them together now talk about magic

    "Boom" Rocks Town Hall!

by lwellsnyc on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

The Callaway Sister two, Ann Hampton and Liz, really had Town Hall jumping with a glorious musical retrospective of their 'Baby Boomer' youth, and most of the songs that influenced them. The roars of approval from the crowd kept building to such a crescendo that I was wondering, time after time, "Wow, how will they top that?" And, then they did it again!!! And, again!!! Amazing singers, each in their own right - Ann, with her full, deep bodied jazz tones that can run octives without a break, and Liz, with her glistening soprano touching your ears like a perfect spring rain - come together in rapturous harmonics and a blend that only siblings seem to have. Solo turns by each added depth to the show, and each singing back-up for the other on a few songs was icing on the cake. If you missed them, never make that mistake again, and if you were there, well, I'm preaching to the choir. I cannot wait for this to be an album, a Broadway offering, and/or a night at Carnegie Hall. Brava Divas Callaway.

    Boom

by Filippo on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

How can you decide between two precious jewels. We witnessed two of the greatest singing talent in American, re-interpret the top songs of our childhood...the 60s and the 70s. Many of the songs that has become ingrained in our psyche were re thought and made fresh again. As Judith Christ used to say: I cried, I laughed...I had a great time. I do not take these talents for granted....we may not see their likes for years to come.

    Boom! was riveting while heartwarming

by firstclassfan on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

Last night's Boom! was a sweet celebration of two wonderful sister entertainer musicians. I cannot imagine how their parents' buttons weren't popping off their clothes, as both the performance and audience reception was non-stop exhilarating. Ann Hampton Callaway & Liz Callaway skillfully guided us down pop music's memory lane, paying tribute to those brilliant songwriters that preceded them, and doing more-than-justice to so many 60s and 70s musical favorites. Their singing harmony interspersed with unison, as well as delivering percussion-like sounds with their voices stoked our curiosity throughout the evening. Ann's & Liz's mutual adoration and praise of each other warmed my heart, which was already pit-a-patter from their striking white go go boots. Thank you Town Hall for bringing these two gems together again.

    Boom was exhilarating!

by Carole333 on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

The Callaway sisters are so intrinsically musical and accomplished that it's a privilege to be allowed to watch them. Their Baby "Boom"ers show brought back the most amazing memories and was a real change of pace from the music I most often hear. Old memories are not always happy, but hearing the joyous way these women sing these songs gave those memories a rosier hue.

by HiptobeHappyToo on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

To witness perfection is truly a rare and special gift. Ann & Liz, separately are truly a delight. Put them together, and something incredible happens....If they would have gone on through the night I would still be there applauding for more.

    Boom: Loved it!

by Anonymous on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

Loved it! They usually do American Standards, show tunes or jazzy tunes, but they are equally terrific at the Boomer music of the 60's and 70's. It takes real talent to successfully perform songs that other artists have "branded."

    Boom: Stairway to Vocal Heaven

by DennisLH on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

If there's a more gifted, sensitive, and powerful pair of vocalists on this planet, they haven't yet revealed themselves. Liz and Ann Hampton Callaway -- sisters who have blessed us with their talents in cabarets, on Broadway, with major orchestras, and in diverse venues around the world -- recall the music in "Boom" that inspired their baby boomer generation. In many ways, this pairing of the two Callaways seems to have a higher quotient of fun than in the past. But that may be due more to the song choices from the 60s and 70s -- their rapport has always been snappy, saucy, and fun-loving. It's the blending of their voices that is the bonus here. While their individual moments demonstrate that they are both superb vocal stylists of the highest order, their duets simply soar to heights of luxuriant sound, pure emotion, and sheer mastery of their art. My favorite is "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be" by Carly Simon and Jacob Brackman. Their individual turns are just as commanding -- Ann's sensuous "A Case of You" and Liz's potent Jimmy Webb medley of "Didn't We" and "Macarthur Park" are both master classes of vocalizing for the uninitiated. What was very evident from beginning to end was their all-embracing love of each other as they have matured from two very different girls -- one shy, one not so much -- into the two gracious, accomplished, and vibrant performers that they embody now.

Callaway sisters are as good as ever

by avidtheater on 6/5/10Town Hall - New York

Great talent, great vocals, great show. I see dozens of shows every season, and this was at the top of the list this year. These talented vocalists are gifted, fun, and have an avid following. The audience was borderline obsessive over these two. They are true performers. The best New York City has to offer.
