    The Z-Man Rocks

by DoktorG on 11/7/17Brighton Music Hall - Boston

While the crowd was a mite rude to our British guest, the Z-Man handled it with aplomb and the aural pleasures of "The Bugle" were supplemented by a most engaging presence. The more extemporaneous first portion was the highlight and his adlibs were especially pleasing. The "cabbage" portion seemed contrived and not nearly as humorous, but that is probably because the spontaneous retort is AZ's rightful claim to fame. Gallagher he ain't, (thank god). All in all, a most wonderful evening with a man of singular genius!

Andy Zaltzman is the slashing sword of satire!

by FoxIslandDave on 10/15/16Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Andy gave us an excellent show - more than 2 hours of fun, always engaging with the audience. He is the conscience of Britain's shameful past which fortunately puts him in an excellent spot to lampoon the rest of the world. We certainly need it.

    Zaltor the Merciless Never Disappoints.

Have you not experienced the presence of Zaltor? Do yourself a favor and rectify this, immersing yourself in the power of the puns.

Zaltzman knocks it out of the park

by JimboTheT on 10/5/16Punch Line Philly - Philadelphia

I apologize in advance for using an american baseball analogy to describe a British comic's performance but... this guy is funny! I appreciate any comic who is quick on his feet and this guy is lightning fast. Zaltzman literally asks for material from the audience 5 minutes before the show and then satirizes it for 2 hours. Even quicker, when an audience member asked if he had heard that the Venezuelan peace initiative had fallen apart he responded "Oh FARC!" If you are looking for an evening of off-color jokes and curses this act is not for you. If, however, you like to sharpen your brain and maybe learn a little something about life on the other side of the pond then Zaltzman puts on a terrific show.

We should aspire to be a culture which gets all of these jokes, but sadly we tend to be a bit lost when confronted with comedy about Swift's "A Modest Proposal." Maybe we'll get there one day, but until then Zaltzman will have to take comfort in making smaller rooms laugh when he comes to visit. Great show. Make sure to send emails.

    Avuncular

by ldime on 10/1/16Gramercy Theatre - New York

Like that young, cool uncle who's very smart, slightly evil, and is happy to expand minds at any cost. Keep satire alive!
