About

ANDERSON EAST IN CONCERT:

Anderson East taps into the spirit of an old school gospel revival every time he takes the stage to perform his spiritually moving R&B. In concert East dances around stage to his uplifting anthems while his gifted backing players turn out soul, blues, and country with undeniable chops. The band is always on point, but it’s the singer’s soaring melodies and trademark bluesy grit that are sure to win over ticket buyers on fan favorites like “Satisfy Me”, “Find ‘Em, Fool ‘Em, Forget ‘Em”, and “The Devil in Me”. With his killer vocals and old school style, Anderson East always impresses fans with a truly soulful R&B spectacle every time he tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Anderson East, aka Michael Anderson, was born in Athens, GA in 1988. Though there weren’t many opportunities for aspiring musicians in his hometown, something clicked when a neighbor showed up at his door with a guitar. East began writing his own music as soon as he picked up the instrument, and he already had a wealth of material to draw from when he self-released his 2009 debut EP Closing Credits for a Fire. He switched to the more memorable moniker Anderson East the following year for his second EP Fire Demons. For his 2012 full-length debut Flowers for the Broken Hearted, East flew to Los Angeles to record with a cast of top-notch studio musicians. There, his powerful live performances further fueled his rise. Producer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) caught one of East’s live performances and insisted on helming the sessions for the singer’s 2015 major label debut Delilah. That record helped introduce Anderson East to a wider audience, and his soulful and dynamic live shows continue to convert listeners across the country.

    Not what we expected

by Kel on 11/16/21Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Attended with three friends. Not the show we expected. We left after about 4 songs. First of all, the bass was way too loud. We all wondered how this was considered good during sound check. Second, we hadn’t expected such an over-produced show from Anderson East. Saw him a couple years ago. His style has apparently changed since then. Overall, we were very disappointed.

    Great show

by Dnicole on 11/15/21Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The show was literally perfect the only thing I was annoyed about is the lighting. I’ve sat on the side before and this time the big lights on the stage were Blindingggg!!! It was so bad mid way through the show my sister and I found seats in the middle section instead. Overall great experience though!

    Super fun

by Short R on 11/15/21Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Love love love Anderson East his performance was spot on. I appreciated the staff at the Ryman. Getting in and to our seats was flawless. My only complaint is your choice of soft drinks. I really prefer Coke and Diet Coke. Please have that as an option. I don’t get anything at the Concession stand because I want to be able to have a Coke with it. Don’t enjoy other products. If there was a wider selection I would definitely grab food and a beverage

    Just amazing.

by mlanghor on 10/28/21The Fillmore - San Francisco

One of few artists that truly sounds better live than on an album. Has soo much feeling and soul to his voice, great stage presence. Have seen him four times and never disappointed. I don’t think I’d choose any other current artist over seeing them again.

The Best Part of Live Music

by ShaneA96 on 10/26/21The Observatory North Park - San Diego

I had the opportunity to see Anderson East at North Park Observatory in San Diego. Purchased the pre-show sound check. Fantastic experience to hear him play a few songs acoustically. He was very gracious and engaged with the small crowd. The concert was a good mix of his catalog and sound reminder of what is so great about seeing live music.

    Couldn’t hear a thing

by Sauce on 10/18/21Trees - Dallas

The venue was relatively empty, which was a good thing since they did not have a vaccine mandate. The original venue did and that was a big reason for the initial ticket purpose; was sad to hear of the venue change. Though the music was perfectly fine, we could barley hear his vocals. And though everyone commented that it was barley audible nothing was done. He is so amazing online and on Spotify, but it will be my last live show.

    Best Vocal Artist out there!

    by Laz on 5/4/21

I'll just start this off with my favorite band is Tool, a FAR different sound than Anderson. My wife and I saw him in STL at The Delmar Hall. The first note of the night brought tears to her eyes his voice is powerful and then halfway through the show he played a song solo, the entire venue stopped, not a sole moved, talked, danced, nothing, we were all froze by his voice. He played about 5 bars and then stopped and told the crowd he had never had a crowd so interested in what he was doing and he was going to write all of our momma's a thank you note for being so kind, you could literally hear the HVAC running it was so silent. My man, it wasn't because we were being our typical midwest polite, your voice is one of, if not the best in the land, you had us dead in our tracks because we've never heard something so amazing. CANNOT WAIT FOR YOU TO TOUR AGAIN!!!

Anderson is always great but he seemed a little less enthusiastic than usual. Of course with his schedule it may just be exhaustion.

Anderson East live is incredible, Ticketmaster not so much!

    by Boom82 on 1/6/19Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

Was looking forward to seeing Anderson East live for New Years Eve. Seating for the venue was not represented correctly on the seating chart so although pictured together when I selected seats and purchased, they were not together at all. Two seats were on one side of the venue, two on the opposite side of the venue. Since one member of our party was unable to attend, that left one person seated alone. I reached out to Ticketmaster to see how this could've occurred, they said "sorry for the confusion". I learned a valuable lesson with this purchase and will purchase directly from the venue in the future whenever possible. Also learned that Ticketmaster has no actual concern for the guest's experience.

    Special NYE

by Crystal bama on 1/4/19Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

Loved the Alabama Theater. So beautiful and a great venue for music. As always, Anderson East and his band delivered beautiful music and a fun evening. If you have not attended an Anderson East event, your NY resolution for 2019 should be to see them.

    Loved!!!!!!!! Wish More Anderson

by ShanBan on 1/3/19Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

One of the best New Years’ I’ve had! Anderson was such a delight. I wish however there would have only been one opener, so that Anderson could have started earlier and ended at 12:30. Many people left really early because they didn’t know the openers and it was late. I would have paid more for the ticket to hear Anderson more.
