About

ANBERLIN IN CONCERT:

Beloved Christian rock outfit Anberlin announced that their 2014 album and tour would be their last, meaning fans have one last chance to see them in action. The band has been a scene mainstay for more than a decade with their anthemic alt rock sound, topping the Christian Albums Chart four consecutive times with taut albums like 2008's New Surrender and 2012's Vital. The band's final album, 2014's Lowborn, will be accompanied by The Final Tour, a decisively titled last hurrah for the veteran rockers.  Seeing Anberlin on their farewell tour may be bittersweet, but it will also be unforgettable -- the band has promised to pull out all the stops, treating fans to career-spanning sets that will include favorites like "Feel Good Drag" and "Impossible".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Anberlin formed in Florida in 2002 from the ashes of Christian punk outfit SaGoh 24/7, a short-lived project started by singer Stephen Christian and bassist Deon Rexroat during high school. After SaGoh failed to gain traction, the band reemerged with a rock sound and a new moniker, making their debut as Anberlin in 2003 with the album Blueprints for the Black Market. Although the release failed to chart, it spawned the popular single "Readyfuels" and led to extensive touring. The band's 2005 sophomore album fared better, landing at No. 5 on the Christian chart and No. 3 on the Heatseekers chart. Their success continued in 2007 with the album Cities, which earned them a major label deal with Universal. Their debut on the imprint -- 2008's New Surrender -- peaked at No. 1 on the Christian chart, a feat the band would repeat with their next three albums including their final album, 2014's Lowborn. Accompanying Lowborn is the bands farewell gesture to fans, a rollicking set of dates on The Final Tour that provides ticket buyers with one last opportunity to see Anberlin before they call it quits for good.

by momofateenagefan on 10/12/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

I took my teenage daughter, who is a fan and actually enjoyed Anberlin, Crash Kings and Civil Twilight very much ( I danced all night)! My daughter was delighted!

Anberlin & Regency Ballroom = incredible

by LivingInspired on 10/12/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

This was the first time I had been to a concert at the Regency Ballroom and the venue is AMAZING!!! The architecture is absolutely stunning and the stage area is perfectly sized to feel intimate but fit a lot of fans. Several bars were fantastic so that lines were never long. Anberlin was INCREDIBLE, as usual. The lights were astounding. The only complaint I really have is that I could not really hear Stephen's voice very well. The sound system was almost too good.

    Anberlin Live in SF

by jgalang on 10/12/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Great band live, so much energy and stage presence. The big choruses that Anberlin is known for truly explode in the live setting, The band sounded full and great, and Stephen's voice was dead on. I definitely recommend seeing them this tour.

    Anberlin

by ltemma74 on 10/12/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Anberlin was awful. Their routine was boring. Unoriginal and uninspired. These guys are clearly packaged by a label with the goal of appealing to teens. Vocals were off-pitch. Live drums didn't lock into backing tracks well. The mix wasn't good either. I cannot recommend this band to anyone. Whoever produced, engineered and mixed their album deserves credit because they sound fine on the radio. However, live is another story. Hope these guys disappear from the scene quickly. Crash Kings Opening Act - Now here's a band of musicians with talent. Crash Kings deserve 5 stars. Tony on vocals was incredible. This band is tight and doesn't need to play to a click track or include samples and other garbage. They play great original songs and the sound and mix was fantastic. Cannot recommend these guys enough.

    Awesome Shown!

by Anonymous on 10/12/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Overall the show was great. Anberlin had an incredible set with high energy. They played a good deal of new stuff that I did not know, but they mixed in old classics and even played Ready Fuels which was really exciting. I've been a fan since Blueprints for the Black Market and to hear those tracks makes me continue to want to see Anberlin.

    Amazing Show!

by AnthonyBench on 10/12/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

They opened with their song 'Art of War', and it was my first time hearing it. It's now one of my favorite Anberlin songs. The production value and stage lighting was very cool as well, and the band had brilliant energy. My only complaint is that I wish they would have played more of their early songs, but a small complaint that is. I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again first chance I get.

Anberlin is always an amazing show!

by KBodToTheRescue on 8/11/10The Chance - Poughkeepsie

Despite Stephen being in the hospital for laryngitis, it was an amazing show. These guys have been and will always be my favorite band. Story of the Year wasn't bad either but not as good as Anberlin.

    Amazing!

by Katelovestbs on 5/26/10Chameleon Club - Lancaster

Story of the Year and Anberlin absolutely put on an amazing show every single time that I've seen them. My boyfriend and I arrived about an hour and a half early for the show and ended up in second row center stage and not only did we get to listen to great music, and entertaining bands, but we walked away with guitar picks from both bands, and story of the year's set list so thank you for adding to our collection :) Anyway, I would definitely recommend this concert to a friend, and I'm so glad I got to see them both, at an affordable rate, and good venue since they won't be participating in warped tour this year. Good luck on the rest of your tour guys!

    Awesome show

    by Lum2009 on 5/26/10Chameleon Club - Lancaster

The opening band terrible things were alright I guess. Nobody knew them and they were kinda boring. Then story of the year was really fun and exciting with moshing. Then anberlin was amazing. It was a good change off. An exciting fast paced band and then a mellower great band. Most fun I've had at a show in a while.

    Anberlin was breath-taking!

by kissthestarswme on 11/19/09Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

This show was so amazing! Everyone was so pumped to be their and Anberlin had great stage presence. They rocked the music hall. The venue was small, but everyone there was so excited to see them so it was perfect.
