Amigo the Devil on Tour

Amigo the Devil, the artistic moniker for musician Danny Kiranos, is a fitting juxtaposition for the acoustic troubadour who challenges the expectations of country fans, folk traditionalists and metal rockers alike with his unique brand of grisly "MurderFolk". Though armed with just his vocals and a banjo or acoustic guitar, experiencing Amigo the Devil in concert is unlike any typical folk show. He sings his dark, poetic lyrics from the soul and performs with a theatrical flair that engages everyone in the crowd. Rooted in the art of storytelling and infused with unsuspecting doses of humor, Amigo the Devil grips the audience by the very first line, making life's less-than-pleasant moments relatable to fans of all genres through songs centered around themes of loss, doubt and regret. The multifaceted artist draws from diverse elements that range from bluegrass to electropunk, country rap and gothic rock. On his 2021 album, Born Against, he weighs on past and present musical influences to create his own authentic expression of multi-faceted talent. You can catch Amigo the Devil on tour as across the U.S. throughout 2022-23, commanding the stage with his original style, clever lyrics and hummable tunes that get people to sing along with their demons.

Amigo the Devil Live in Concert

Before he became known by the masses as Amigo the Devil, Danny Kiranos was a man from Miami with a banjo and opinion. Today, this one-man folk band is appearing at festivals and headlining shows across the country with a cult-like band of followers who will drive hours to bring venues like House of Blues (San Diego) to capacity to watch Amigo the Devil on tour. The Florida native taught himself how to play guitar at the age of 13, eventually releasing music under his pseudonym by 2010. As a first-generation American, Kiranos grew up on his parents' world music of the classic Bolero tradition and sounds from Eastern European folk. Later in his career, he was introduced to storytelling influences -- such as Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Fiona Apple -- and gained an appreciation for metallic rock that help shape the music he makes today. As people from all walks of life were won over by the disarming nature of his songs that speak to the human condition, his audience grew in size and appreciation. After the self-taught artist released his debut album, Everything is Fine, in 2018 and experienced a huge spike in popularity, he found himself performing in larger venues to larger crowds. Over the years, he's built a dedicated fanbase who treat each other like family in a community group called "The Fellowship" on Facebook, some of whom have gotten one of the many Amigo the Devil tattoos that are displayed on his website. He's even honored in his home city of Austin, Texas, with an "Amigo the Devil Day," which falls on November 16 every year.

    Sound system

by froggy on 10/23/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas City

Great bands, great shows, but the sound system was very muddy sounding. Stories and banter between songs were very hard to discern. Other than that I loved the venue.

Seeing Amigo the Devil live brought a whole new level. Creative, talented, and present. Loved the vibes they put out, the jam sessions, and just being real with their audience. Got to hear two of my favorites, which was fantastic!! Keep showing up to those small venues, your fans love that!

    Stunning

by Ace on 10/23/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas City

To speak outside of his amazing music, his crowdwork rivals that of some comedians, all while keeping it very real and personal to himself. He knows what he’s doing and he knows he’s good at it. Now the music- his composition and collaboration with the other band members is simply stunning. I can’t even think how to describe the level of love I have for this band’s music. It’s spectacular. It’s glorious. I want to eat it idk what to tell you

    Best Show Every Time

by Megan Delaney on 10/22/23Varsity Theater - Minneapolis

I have attended six live performances of Amigo the Devil within the past two years. Danny's presence on stage enhances the overall experience for all attendees. He ensures that even those unfamiliar with his music feel included. His repertoire ranges from lively tunes about death to introspective pieces that encourage self-reflection. Brace yourself for an unforgettable evening and revel in the unpredictable journey that is Amigo the Devil 😈.

    Great show

    by Ljb1954 on 10/19/23Saint Andrew's Hall - Detroit

What a great show! Not my first time for Amigo the Devil or Tejon Street Corner Thieves, but the opener Ned Berenger was new to me. All artists did a great job and St. Andrew's staff helped me out when I was unable to get my tickets to display. Staff at St. Andrew's is awesome.

    Cool show, but

by PhillyPhilly on 10/12/23Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Venue was nice.. I saw the Tejon Street Corner Thieves as the opener and they made a fan out of me. I’ve been an Amigo the Devil fan for quite a few years now. I always missed the chance to see him live so I was pumped for this show. He or his songs didn’t disappoint, however the backing band did. Musically they are very good, however I felt it took away from what originally drew me to Amigo the Devil. It took away that intimacy with his music. Sure there was a rehearsed “I want privacy moment” which was the highlight, but overall they don’t seem to “fit” him musically, or stylistically. It almost seemed like it was a forced change by the record company. I could be very much wrong, and I hope I am It won’t stop me from seeing his show again. I guess I just missed out on seeing the independent Amigo the Devil that I wanted to see and that makes me sad.

    by Gabi on 7/16/23

I saw Amigo at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. He opened up for Trampled by Turtles and he absolutely killed it. Tbt were killer too but Amigo stole the show in my opinion. Amazing performance all around

    Best EVER

by Chris on 11/14/22Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens - Boston

A friend and myself flew out to Boston from Portland Oregon just to see Amigo. It was by far the best concert ive been to. The sidden change if venue due to the TBT cancelation only made it more intimate and enjoyable. Not to mention Amigo with a full band is just....AMAZING! 11/10 would definitely recommend.
