Not as good as last year's but nice

by Benzo on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

There were some standout performances such as Rihanna, Pink, Usher, legendary Bon Jovi and Carlos Santana. But like most award shows, many of the award categories and winners sucked. But hey, it's by popular vote of 15 and under, so most of that was expected. No Award of Merit or International Artist of the Year Award, which are the main awards that matter, that seemed odd. Red carpet was closed off by a tent with press only. That kinda sucks, fans should be able to see the stars go in, that's part of the hype, and that shouldn't be only for vip payers. But overall, it was a fun show, not as packed out like last year, but I'll be back in 2011.

AMA Awards were just OK this year.

by Finally218 on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I was somewhat disappointed this year with the AMA's. I thought the graphics/ logos and sets were a little plain and ordinary. I think that people like myself, dish out quite a price to be a part of the AMA's and find that an evening of " getting away" should be a little more glamorous than I what was presented this year. I think last year's were far better. The entertainment was good, not great but good. I look forward to next year and hope to see a better show.

AMA awards should be called country awards

by jeenna on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I bought vip tickets and was soooo disapointed because alot of the artist didn't come and it was wayyyyyy toooo country!! MTV awards were so much better. Country music already did their awards in case no one knows:(

    Thoroughly enjoyable evening!

by hsteacherlady on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

This year's AMA's were great. Tickets are expensive, but imo, worth it. Biggest complaint is not getting a program in the $175 seats. Nice variety of acts, but would have liked some country or CCM as well as pop, rap and R&B. Fantastic staging of the acts--a visual and aural treat. I appreciated the tickets going on sale earlier this year than in the past.

This was the event of 2010. The line up of performers was extraordinary. The performers were amazing and the stage and video show as outstanding.

    Taylor is always the best

by pollini on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

The overall event was very nice, especially Taylor Swift's performance was so goooood!! The live sounding is also much better than I went to watch TV broadcast. That is way live performance is always worthy no matter how near or far you sit.

There were a lot of superb performances again this year... I didn't expect it to get close to last year's, but I was surprised... the lighting was sometimes pretty bad though for the audience in the mezzanine level... sometimes they would blind me so that I couldn't see what was going on on stage.

    Best Event of 2010!

by honeyp6 on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Where to begin? I thought this AMA package purchase was well worth the money. The Pre-Party at Lucky Strike on Saturday night was ok. The food was a little dry but the open bar was much appreciated. I think the video music mix was hot and people wanted to dance but there was no real place to do so. However, everyone was enjoying themselves so I give the pre-party a thumbs up. From the call to acknowlege my VIP package was on the way to the last perfomance of the AMA's, the entire thing was well planned, well executed, and simply wonderful. The Red Carpet was amazing and the coke beverages were a nice touch. Security was firm but not rude. The atmosphere was festive and upbeat. Rhianna's performance was the best of the night. Taylor Swift had it snowing in LA. Justin Bieber was so humble and a great example for young artists. Kid Rock provided encouragement and inspiration for those less fortunate. The Black Eyed Peas had everyone dancing and out of their seats. Christina Aguilara's performace was theatrical and entertaining. The New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys reunion provided a nostalgic touch that took us back to the days when music brought us all together.

The AMA was the best event I've seen all year!

by Markmay on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

The number of singers, the songs, the performances.....all were awesome. It was incredible and I definitely plan on going again next year. What the TV audience didn't see on tv, what wasn't broadcast was spectacular!

    didn't blow me away

by jspot on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

i was surprised that the attendance was confined basically to the presenters, performers and nominees....and the fact that the category nominees all came from the same list. There wasn't enough variety - of people, of music etc.

    Carlos Santana!!

by concertgoer10100 on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Fantastic variety show. Everybody's greatest hits. Fast paced. Because of TV starts on time and ends on time. Santana incandescent with an inspired (and a bit surprising) choice of performance piece.

    American Music Awards--GOOD TIMES!!

by elwayfanken on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

I wasnt sure what to expect from this show, so it was easy to impress me. The precision like timing of the producers kept the show at exactly 3 hours to fit the east coast time feed. The fans were all decked out, the red carpet was a great experience and the music and effects were great. Usher, Ke$ha, Back Street/New Kids, Rhyanna and Boy wonder Beiber were all on top of their games. However, Kid Rock stole the limelight with a great new song about Detroit and the urban problems there. Miley Cyrus looked the Janice Joplin part as she brought it also. All in All, GOOD TIMES!

    2010 American Music Awards

by sonasez on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

The Awards Show was well produced but not nearly as good as the Grammy Productions. The size of the venue was good, more intimate than Grammy's but no food for VIP ticket holders which is not normal for event that last so long. You should not cut off alcohol and food sales if you are not going to provide them as part of ticket price. Some of the choices in acts was not as varied as I would like. Too much on the R&B, Hip Hop side, should have had more variation with more country acts, like Sugarland, Zac Brown Band, etc, and more Hollywood Celebs Presenting the Awards. Although Taylor Swift's production was good, she is not the only country act but is always on every award show. P Diddy was not up to normal standards and should not be invited back. Some of the acts were too sexual to have kids in the audience and I am not a prude. Save the sex for the VMA's.

Awesome show and experience. Worth the money!

by Astronut on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Great line-up of artists, great performances, incredible show. I' d do it again. Well worth the money, especially if you have teenagers. They'll love you forever if you take them. Bummers: you don't really see the stars unless you pony up for the orchestra level seats. The food and drink at concession stand is a but pricey and a bit cheesy (think stadium food) so eat before you go. November can be kinda cold for women in short dresses.

by NatalieCh on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

Everything was great except that I was really looking forward to the rehersal that w had access to and it was scam....they let us in a 2....let us watch them put together a stage fire 20 minutes and then told us the rest of the rehersa was"closed set".. We got a babysitter ot the day-drive to downtown-fought and paid for parking-just to be made to sit on the stairs outside for 2 hours.....i was extremely disappointed and sad when it was over

Pink and Bon Jovi on fire

by jbj1 on 11/23/10Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE - Los Angeles

The AMA's were great fun and great entertainment. The production of Pink's number was amazing as was she. Bon Jovi brought down the house with new and old classics.
