Alison Krauss & Union Station - Perfect
by mrwood on 6/26/11Greek Theatre - Los AngelesThe music was perfect and unforgettable. Alison Krauss has an amazingly clear and strong voice, and Union Station backs her up without flaw. Highlights were her singing songs from her new album, plus Dan Tyminski singing "I am a Man of Constant Sorrow" from the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?". Also, the encore was just Alison and the main Union Station members surrounding a single microphone, singing their early hits and highlights from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?". What a treat. Highly recommended, but don't expect flash and effects, and don't expect any jumping around on the stage. These guys could have been giving a private recital in my living room. It was intimate and lovely. Jerry Douglas was amazing to watch on the dobro. Before the concert, I bought a few of their albums -- after the concert, I bought the rest! There's real talent here.
