ALEX G IN CONCERT:
Indie rocker Alex G combines heart-wrenching honesty and an earnest innocence in his coming-of-age songs. His melancholy melodies and emotional lyrics reveal themes of shyness and alienation, but you'd never know it as he confidently performs songs like “Mary”, “Icehead”, and “Black Hair” in concert. With the addition of off-kilter guitar riffs, shuffling drums, and driving basslines, his touring band helps create a catchy and cathartic space for ticket buyers to rock out. Given his gift for cutting to the emotional core on every song while crafting unforgettable singalongs in the process, Alex G is sure to leave an impact on anyone who witnesses his passion in person.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Multi-instrumentalist Alex Giannascoli was born in 1993 in the Philadelphia suburbs. The youngest of three children in a musical family, he was influenced by his classical pianist brother and a sister who shared her love of Modest Mouse, Radiohead, and Wilco with him. By the age of 13 Alex G was recording his own music using his family’s home computer. Though he played in several high school bands, he realized by 2011 that he worked best alone and released his first online single, “Sandy”. The following year he released the album Trick online and gained praise from a growing internet fanbase. His first physical release came with his 2014 album DSU, after which he formed a full band and went on tour. Alex G continues to climb the ranks of indie rock world by touring with topnotch musicians and turning out stellar recorded material, including 2015’s Beach Music.
Over the course of their career, Alex G has played venues such as Webster Hall, the Greek Theatre, and the Observatory North Park to capacity.
I whole heartedely love Alex G his music is amazing and I love his performance style, sadly a lot of the audience wasnt there for him which sucked but I was which was all that mattered I knew almost every song and the enviroment was amazing. Keep up the good work!
Music was good but event was way too crowded, rude tall people deliberately blocking your view, clothes and hair reek of pot smoke which was engulfing my children, artist merchandise was too far away to even go to, horrible experience, will never go there again. Smoking was prohibited but not enforced.
I WAS DIRECTLY INFRONT OF HIM AT THE LA SHOW AND I REQUESTED HE PLAYED GNAW AND HE DID. HES SO COOL AND VERY TALENTED. 10/10 TO SEE LIVE IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE
I’ve been a fan for a bit and have been meaning to see him live. I missed his last tour and was finally able to see him TWICE. The setlist was good, encore was great, and overall energy was incredible. Love this man and recommend one of his shows
The concert was so good that I ended up peeing and pooping my pants out of excitement. I recommend seeing him live.
This was the best concert I’ve ever been to I wanted to get up and griddy it was really a blast I will never forget so fun I griddied all the way home it was so fun and overall would rate 10/10 will come again
alex g was INCREDIBLE. i was so shocked with how good he sounded and his opening act, Bikini, was so great too
beyond words...everyone on instruments did amazing, Alex killed it he's so funny. it just went so hard I crave that experience again. stage presence made me smile you can tell they enjoy what they do.
This was such a great concert! Alex G's setlist was amazing and he even took requests at the end. People in the crowd were extremely friendly and sweet. I'm short and people around me were constantly making sure to move their heads so I could see :,). Didn't feel too crowded in on, either. Very very fun experience. Better concert I've been to recently.
If you haven’t seen them play before, I encourage you to go and have the time of your life!! These guys Rock!

His stage presence was absolutely insane and interacted with the crowd throughout the entire performance! I came in a casual Alex g listener and came out a proud Alex g stan. The merch variety was also insane! I dropped $100 without even thinking twice! Live laugh love Alex G!!
The venue was small enough to see the stage and hear everything and big enough to fit a bunch of people. I loved it, we sat above the lodge and it still felt pretty close :)

Saw him for the first time in 2021 and from the first song I knew I’d definitely want to see him live again. Really entertaining show all around. Musically, the band works great together and the songs translate so well live. The bass and guitar are a lot more prominent, it really struck me when he played Judge which sounds like a total different version because it’s so much heavier (very good, very good). Also him and the band are just funny. Good show.
Alex G and his band members blew me away. Could have not asked for a better show. They rocked that place hard.
