it start on time Alex was GREAT hope to see him back soon
Although I'm a long time fan this was my first live Alex concert and it was fantastic. I went with a group of 4 which included myself and all ladies for a birthday celebration, we simply loved, loved, loved the entire show. Alex and the band performed a beautiful magical night!!!
Alex and company were phenomenal. Tight intros, changes and segues in an intricate jazz setting. One mind-blowing song after another. Between songs Alex entertained us with little funny stories. A humble yet great entertainer with a ridiculous ensemble! We will be there next time for certain!
WOW!!! I have not seen such an intimate, exciting crowd at the Ritz. Please invite Mr. Bugnon back again for more jazz at the Ritz. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy. Great talent, location, food, drinks, and people. Bring more, and more talent back to the Ritz. Thanks for a great eveing.
Never heard of Mr. Bugnon until now. Concert was of the chart. Ole saying-- Don't knock it until you try it. Glad I did. I am a fan for life. The set was intimate with him and his 3 of his band mates. He did is thing as each of the others did also. He mixed his jazz up along with some R&B funk which brought the house down. I was lost for words. His drummer!!! A whole other story . WOW!!!!!
Alex, as expected, put on a terrific show! The band was equally as impressive.
I took my friend girl (at the time) to see Alex Bugnon at the Birchmere in 2005. After the show and how the evening went, we ending up dating. We got married in Nov 2007. Every year Mr. Bugnon comes to town, we must see him. From one Kat Daddy to another. I simply want to thank Mr. Bugnon for constantly making great jazz muzik. Darkman
I enjoyed the concert. Alex was very talkative and knowledgeble about music. Poogie Bell his drummer was amazing.
Excellent pianist and keyboarder! Bandmembers were his original personnel which made for an excellent show due to their familiarity as they played off each other!
My firat time at the Birchmere was a memorable evening. I enjoed the chicken pot pie and my lady friend enjoyed her crabcake. Alex Bugnon was out of sight. He has the blessing of working with three of the most talented musicians on the planet. The dummer was full of life and energy, the bass player was explosive and dynamic. And then there was the guitar player who also played tenor sax, baritone sax, flute , and haromica!
I've seen Alex Bugnon several times in the past and I always enjoy him. The passion and emotion he emits is infectious. The big sound that he and his trio
GREAT SHOW...THEY HAVE GOOD CHEMISTRY TOGETHER!! I HOPE THAT THEY CAN COME BACK SOON
When I go to a show I want the artists to play famous to favored music from their CDs, you know, ones that we're use to hearing. I do not like it when the artists go too far with a selection. It's better to play short pieces from famous sounds that we're use to hearing versus stretching the time playing too much of one thing, which eats up all the time leaving no time for other sounds we would like to hear by them play. I am not interested in how well a drummer can tap his/her drums individually, I am not interested in how well a pianist can play solo, I want to hear the group play together in harmony, which provides the whole sound for maximum enjoyment. After all, they're only there for a short while, which is why they should maximize their performance for the audience, as they can practice their music on their own time.
This show was simply fantabulus!! Alex and his band were in rare form and as he announced they were the same cats with him 20 years earlier at the release of his very first CD, their performance punctuated their musicianship, bond, and entertainment value...PT clearly had a great time performing with Alex. These guys demonstrated showmanship beyond belief! I can hardly wait until next year or whenever these cats will be in our area again.
Paul Taylor is a great talent and the songs he played were wonderful. I think he played 4 or 5 numbers before the encore routine began. It made me feel like they had a later show someplace and were hurrying to get there.
Alexis a true entertainer and would definitely attend another one of his concerts. I'm a huge fan of Paul, however, he only played about three songs. I wish he had played more songs. But I'm a huge fan and all and all the concert was great.
Alex & Paul were excellant! The show was high energy and non stop. I can't wait until Alex's CD comes out . Great show.
When I found out that Alex Bugnon was going to be in town, I had to get tickets. Better yet- the concert was held at the Birchmere. It was my 1st time at the Birchmere and this was a surprise for my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I hadn't seen Alex or Paul Taylor in concert before but was greatly surprised. Now, I can't wait for their return. I've been an Alex Bugnon fan from his inaugural CD- Love Season- let me tell you that they can groove. Great concert, great atmosphere. Alex played a new song that I fell in love with and I absolutely have to get. Can't wait for more.
Alex was fantastic as always. Paul Taylor was ok he music sounded the same, but he sounded really good when he was playing Alex's music.
Great performance, Alex and Paul are on both good spirit and performance
