About

Alessia Cara In Concert

Alessia Cara's messages of empowerment make her shows feel like communal celebrations of the self. The Canadian pop singer burst into the pop consciousness in 2015, when her outcast anthem "Here" reached the No. 5 spot on Billboard's Hot 100. Since then, she's notched multiple Top 10 hits, performed at festivals like Austin City Limits and Life Is Beautiful, headlined her own tours, won the Best New Artist Grammy, and released two critically acclaimed albums. The year 2019 sees her touring her home country as a headliner before joining fellow Canadian Shawn Mendes for the U.S. and European legs of his self-titled arena tour.

Alessia Cara Background

"Here," which Cara released when she was 19, was a rare pop song that also caught the ear of critics. It blended a killer sample (from Isaac Hayes' "Ike's Rap II") with forthright lyrics about feeling alienated at a party, and it became an all-around sensation. Cara's first album, 'Know-It-All,' followed in November 2015, and singles like "Wild Things" and "Scars to Your Beautiful" cemented her rep as a cheerleader for the outcasts. To craft her anthems, she drew on the raw vocals of soul music and the textures of modern pop. In 2017, she became a pop-radio fixture again thanks to her bouncy collaboration with EDM superstar Zedd. "Stay" reached No. 7 on the Hot 100 and went double-platinum in the U.S. The thoughtful mental-health–minded track "1-800-273-8255" – a collaboration with the rapper Logic and the crooner Khalid – was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2018 Grammys. Cara was nominated for four Grammys total that year, winning Best New Artist and performing "1-800-273-8255" in honor of the late Chris Cornell. In 2018, Cara released her second album, 'The Pains of Growing,' on which singles like the title track and the reggae-tinged "Trust My Lonely" take a close-up look at the challenges posed by adulthood.

    Alessia Cara was INCREDIBLE!

by TaraxNicole on 10/7/16Radio City Music Hall - New York

Even though this young woman is younger than me, I've learned so much through her music. Her presence on stage was incredible to witness. I was out of my seat the entire show! I couldn't be happier for her success and how amazing her album is. I can't stop listening to it on repeat!

Raw talent that actually uses it!

by LissM26 on 10/7/16Radio City Music Hall - New York

I can't say enough about this show - I am 28 years old, way above Alessia's target audience (ha!) and I have been a fan of hers for a long time now. I was really excited to see her perform in NYC since I missed her in Jersey last summer. First off - the venue is amazing, there was practically no line to get in, the security was friendly and it was comfortable and clean. The show started ON TIME (almost unheard of), the opening acts were AMAZING and the performers actually SANG their tails off with a small band (or themselves), and Alessia SANG and PERFORMED for the solid 3 hours or so that she was allotted. I was blown away by how positive and raw she was for young girls and as an artist - she even said she had a cold and she still sounded incredible. Kudos to her, her team and her parents - I left that concert filled with hope for the world again (LOL seriously) I hope we gain more artists like her and soon. I'm also by no means prude, but I also noticed that Alessia didn't even curse once - this is a show you could bring your kids to, or your little cousins and not feel embarrassed (which is rare these days). Sending love to Alessia and her team xox

    Alessia was sensational!

by Zerxes on 10/7/16Radio City Music Hall - New York

I love her studio performances, so I was very excited to see Alessia Cara live, and at Radio City, no less! Admittedly, this combination raised my expectations, and she and her crew delivered in every way! I was a little concerned about the balance, particularly mic volume, during the opening acts but they seemed to figure everything out by the time she hit the stage. I also appreciated her messages and song introductions; they truly made me feel like she was connecting with the audience. The accompanying slideshows and videos were perfect compliments to her lyrics, especially for Scars To Your Beautiful. And I personally enjoy seeing a singer flex their instrumentation muscles, so my eyes lit up as she swapped out guitars throughout the show and beat the drum alongside her band drummer.

    Alessia Cara- phenomenal!

by Crissy23 on 10/7/16Radio City Music Hall - New York

Alessia Cara is a force to be reckoned with! Though she was feeling under the weather we would have never noticed because she is simply that amazing. She sings beautifully and gives women/men and young girls/ boys an empowering role model figure. I would 100% go to any concert of hers.

    I LOVED THE CONCERT!!

by Brookeekay on 10/6/16Orpheum Theatre - Boston

The performance was amazing!! The opening acts were great and I enjoyed their songs, I didn't know them that well before I had heard of Nathan Skyes and I knew one of Ruth B's songs, but now I love their songs! Alessia Cara did an amazing job preforming, her voice is incredible, and she is so sweet. There were so many lights and videos playing behind her that added to the performance and I enjoyed it so much. It was such a great experience and I recommend going to everyone!

    Cara Delivers!

    by GonzoZ1 on 10/5/16Orpheum Theatre - Boston

Alessia Cara's diminutive physical size but Arena Size Presence filled the Orpheum Theater on October 1 on Boston. I had eagerly awaited her return, having missed the first leg of her tour. The performer who wowed me the first time I saw her on late night television rocked and swayed the sold out hall with her sensual, driven, and probing lyrics, rhythms and vocal and melodic shapings. Her band was tight and kept the energy level on pace with Alessia's effervescence, joy of life, and connection with the audience throughout the entire performance. She clearly owns the music and while true to the recorded versions her renditions on stage had just a little something of the 'here and now' that made them fresh and alive. I highly recommend her. I know I will see her again soon.

I fell in love with her last year and literally play her album nonstop. She is great live and I loved her duet with Nathan!! I was on my feet the whole time and knew every word!! Shout out to the bands for all 3 performers! They looked like they had soo much fun, I wish I could of rocked out with them.

    Great night seeing Alessia!

by LaurenMD on 10/5/16The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

We had a ball. My husband and I took our 2 children to the concert, 13 and 10 years old. The opening acts were great! Nathan Sykes and Ruth B. So humble and talented and seemed very happy to be there performing. All three performances were completely G-rated which was awesome. The crowd was nice and everyone was ecstatic when Alessia came on stage!! Energetic, got the crowd going, she is so talented and fun. We felt lucky to see her at her first show of the tour!

    much more than I expected!!!

by jamiedebreceni on 3/10/16Brighton Music Hall - Allston

I saw Alessia for the first time at one of my favorite venues and she was amazing! She had three opening acts, two of them whom I didn't really care for. But Craig Stickland, who is also her guitarist, was incredible and I wasn't expecting it! When Alessia came on she owned the stage. Her voice was great live and she definitely puts on a good concert. I would definitely see her live again.

Best live show of an incredible true arist

by caraswift on 2/8/16Brighton music Hall - Boston

Unforgettable experience. Alessia Cara is absolutely fantastic in singing live. She is definitely a role model for young and new artist to look up into: sing with heart and soul, dare to express self and fight for own belief. Her incredible talents, steely soulful voice, thoughtful songs are great personality shine her way of indisputable true amazing and indisputable "artist" rather than a singer or entertainer. Loved at the first sign since her performance with Tori Kelly in CT and have to get my way to see her again in NY and MA. Each and every time I leave the concert I feel happier and more impressed. Got the VIP Package with Meet and Greet which was awesome. She is extremely down to Earth, funny and sweet to fans. Her management team is really nice too. Singing along with the full house crowd of passionate fans is a wonderful experience. Opening singers are great as well so you should not miss :) The Venue has good variety of drinks and cocktails with fair price which I love. A little bit hard to find parking lot around the area (just personal experience as I am from CT ^^!!!) Her musics and messages are now always a motivation that encourage my confidence, and passion of exploring and bettering myself. "We should know you're beautiful just the way we are And we don't have to change a thing The world could change it's heart No scars to our beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful" ^^!!!

Alessia is an incredible performer and classy lady

by Keikoboo on 2/2/16Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

We bought the VIP tickets and it was the best experience! We had an intimate private pre-concert, a Q & A session, and then each person got to have a photo taken with Alessia (and even a hug!). She was so personable, kind and very generous of her time. The concert was wonderful! We were let in before the general admission so we were up close and could see each expression on her face. She sounded amazing. Her passion came through her songs and we felt each one. Good sound quality too. Thank you Alessia for sharing your talent with us!
