Alejandro Sanz in Concert
Back in 2001, Alejandro Sanz's signature raspy vocals and flamenco-inspired ballads were just starting to take off internationally on the strength of his Latin Grammy award–winning Album of the Year, El Alma al Aire. His increasing popularity earned him an appearance on MTV Unplugged, where he became the first Spanish artist to perform in the storied series. The album that resulted would go on to earn Sanz his second Latin Grammy Album of the Year award, while his other albums continued to be top sellers (including his 1997 breakthrough Más, which went platinum 22 times over in Spain). His music has taken many turns across his dozen-plus LPs, ranging from the R&B and folk tones of Sirope, to the jazz-tinged tango of El Alma Al Aire, to the full-on rock of Paraíso Express, to the modern Latin pop of #ELDISCO. Now in his 50s, the artist brings this amalgam of musical forms to his live shows, delivering the same charm and intimacy of his MTV Unplugged appearance in the large arenas and theaters he plays these days.
Alejandro Sanz Background
Born in Madrid, Alejandro Sanz first took to flamenco music while spending summers in his parents' home region of Andalusia, and the feel and energy of flamenco have remained part of Sanz's compositions since his career debut in 1989. In the decades since, Sanz has released 13 albums while winning three Grammy Awards and 17 Latin Grammys. He has collaborated on global hits like "La Tortura" with Shakira and "Deja Que Te Bese" with Marc Anthony, the latter song claiming over 120 million spins on Spotify. A champion and important voice of Hispanic culture, Sanz was awarded ASCAP's Latin Heritage Award in 2011. He's worked with megastars like Juanes, Alicia Keys and Calle 13, and his 2019 album, #ELDISCO, features collaborations with fellow pop sensations Camila Cabello and Nicky Jam.
Went to the show. Half empty place. Sound was not right or it could have been because half the seats were empty. Alejandro is a grest STUDIO artist, but live, there is much room for improvement. Alejandro should stick to smaller venues where he would be able to connect with his followers. He is a singer for intimate settings. A lot of people left halfway through the show after he played Corazon Partido.
The performance was incredible. Alejandro Sanz sang old songs and new ones from his new album. Punctuality, lighting and sound were perfect.

Alejandro Sanz is a very talented musician and singer. The event was really good but there was a big failure and this was that the concert lacked of big side screens so people who was seating at the back could not really see him. I was seating in the back but moved to the front (I was just lucky) I will recommend this event just if you buy seats that are close to the singer.

From beginning to end, Alejandro and his fabulous band of international musicians and singers captivated the audience's attention with their onstage presence, the colorful lightshow, great rhythm and lyrics. I would definitely recommend this show to all who can appreciate an evening of great singing and audience involvement. You will see Alejandro delight the audience with a lot of his new productions and take you down memory lane with his earlier songs. Fantastic show all around!!!

Nice combination of new songs and old hits. Alternating and chating with fans went a long way. He is a very traditional singer that likes to connect with his fans.
I have seen Alejandro on several tours-- he's my favorite singer in the world! That said, this was among the best I've seen him! His shows always have top-of-the-line production value, but we were blown away by the set before the concert even began. When he came out, we were in awe! He looks amazing, sounds incredible and was just all-around fantasic! I titled this review "surprises galore" because if you're a fan of his older stuff, you're in luck! You will hear him play some of the songs he hasn't played in the last four tours. The musicianship never disappoints... Mike is a great band leader. Xtell and Sarah are back as his back-up singers. This was my first of two stops this week- it's my birthday week... and what a way to celebrate!
Great show, nice variety of songs. Crowd loved him, although it was small.
I loved the show!!! He is great and so are his musicians. Too bad he did not have a big screen, so we could see him better. That is my only complaint! It would be great if we could have seen his facial expressions while he was singing. Great energy!!!!
This concert was awesome! I didn’t know if I was going to like it because I had not heard his new CD yet, BUT I LOVED IT… (needless to say I downloaded the new CD as we were leaving the concert) He played old songs as well as new ones. His lyrics are awesome and seeing him in concert was a great experience. He was charming and gave the fans what they wanted, great music and a good time!!!
Alejandro was great! The passion he has in voice is the reason I love his music. They played no stop it was worth every penny. Of Course it doesn't hurt that Alejandro is a cutie pie.
I went to the concert with my sister and we both loved it. He is genuine and so cool. His music is great and the whole show is amazing. He played his famous old songs as well as new ones. I didn't know some of them but they sounded great. He has a great voice and his personality reflects in every one of his songs. Your songs touch me very deep way. Thanks Alejandro for your beautiful music.
