Alejandro Sanz in Concert
Back in 2001, Alejandro Sanz's signature raspy vocals and flamenco-inspired ballads were just starting to take off internationally on the strength of his Latin Grammy award–winning Album of the Year, El Alma al Aire. His increasing popularity earned him an appearance on MTV Unplugged, where he became the first Spanish artist to perform in the storied series. The album that resulted would go on to earn Sanz his second Latin Grammy Album of the Year award, while his other albums continued to be top sellers (including his 1997 breakthrough Más, which went platinum 22 times over in Spain). His music has taken many turns across his dozen-plus LPs, ranging from the R&B and folk tones of Sirope, to the jazz-tinged tango of El Alma Al Aire, to the full-on rock of Paraíso Express, to the modern Latin pop of #ELDISCO. Now in his 50s, the artist brings this amalgam of musical forms to his live shows, delivering the same charm and intimacy of his MTV Unplugged appearance in the large arenas and theaters he plays these days.
Alejandro Sanz Background
Born in Madrid, Alejandro Sanz first took to flamenco music while spending summers in his parents' home region of Andalusia, and the feel and energy of flamenco have remained part of Sanz's compositions since his career debut in 1989. In the decades since, Sanz has released 13 albums while winning three Grammy Awards and 17 Latin Grammys. He has collaborated on global hits like "La Tortura" with Shakira and "Deja Que Te Bese" with Marc Anthony, the latter song claiming over 120 million spins on Spotify. A champion and important voice of Hispanic culture, Sanz was awarded ASCAP's Latin Heritage Award in 2011. He's worked with megastars like Juanes, Alicia Keys and Calle 13, and his 2019 album, #ELDISCO, features collaborations with fellow pop sensations Camila Cabello and Nicky Jam.
loved it !! cant wait for my next concert ........ just wish had more space to dance ;)
I think this was the worst concert I’ve ever been to. I was expecting more from him but his voice didn’t sound good (maybe he’s getting sick?) idk. The audience was the worst, they didn’t know how to behave. Pretty much I paid to hear the audience singing the whole concert. Everybody was standing up so you couldn’t even see the stage/tv from your seat. There were drunk people screaming out profanities during the whole concert and just being very loud. Just horrible. At one point the microphones stopped working for a long couple of minutes so Alejandro and his singers were just lost on stage trying to get the mics to work. The only good thing about this concert was his band and the 2 female singers they were amazing and the band sounded impeccable. Great musicians!
The concert was everything. It last more than two hours and he sings like an angel. I loved everything about this concert.
Alejandro Sanz was great from the beginning until the end of the concerté, he had a amazing energy and his voice and band were really great.
I expected a better concert because of his successes, but I didn't like the change too much.
Alejandro Sanz is just an amazing song writer and performer. His show was truly spectacular.
His. Not performances like just to be in 2000. Too much interruptions. I pay to see him .
It was a great event. He doesn’t do playback. It was great but the sound on the row Q 109 was a bit off that is why I lowered 1 start
I really loved the experience of being on the first row middle isle! Worth the money! I hope next time he comes to MGM, it feels a closer experience and better sound comparing to Eagle Bank Arena
I pay a good seat to see show but a lot people stand in front us stuff people to soft don’t take care
I paid more than $200 for a ticket that I bought in advance and on the date close to the concert the same ticket only cost $. 75 I went to other Sanz concerts and they were much better. I really didn't like it
Everything was absolutely perfect 🤩 from getting there and parking things were great.
Good experience! even though I was expecting more of the old songs. Any was we really enjoyed. About the event itself it was so disappointing to know that you cannot buy alcoholic drinks in the event if you don’t have a Virginia ID. Sounds so silly that if you are visiting Washington and go to a concert you can’t enjoy even a beer. Has not sense at all. Other than that, it was a good event.
Alejandro one of my favorite singer. He always brings a great show a great experience that I will cherish forever ❤️
The stage was setup in a way that no everybody get a clear view of the show. That was not a pleasant experience. The sound was horrible. We were able to enjoy only when he played the piano almost at the end of the show. The speakers or the equalization had a wrong setup it was noisy and metallic getting over Alejandro’s voice. Traveling this far to have this experience was not fun. I didn’t even get to understand what he was saying in the video when the concert started.
One of the greatest shows. Always, always satisfied with his concerts. Love him!!!
El mejor de todos los cantantes. Esta vez tuvo muy buenos invitados 👏🏻 Me encantó ♥️
Show: It started 45min late but the show was good. I expected more of the unplugged experience but Alejandro was great. Venue: Horrible sound system. I dont know if it was the sound engineer or the speakers but the sound quality was extremely low. Also, staff didnt do well redirecting disrespectful fans (standing fans while others behind were sitting, fans going all the way to the front etc) the building looked clean, restroom were clean.
Great concert, great seats, was an amazing experience. Alejandro Sanz is the best!!
I love him but he started late and the sound was so high that you couldn’t understand what he was singing. Lower the volume just a little bit would be an amazing concert
