I thoroughly enjoyed the ballet, which I attended with my husband, daughter, and her boyfriend. We have seen the Nutcracker at the Bushnell, and I must say that I really enjoy the live orchestra over the recorded track. That said, the Mohegan Sun arena, while a nice sized arena for concerts and sporting events, is not the best venue in the world for a ballet. Maybe we've gotten used to a better class of audience going to the Bushnell Theater. The performance was scheduled to begin at 7pm - it was closer to 7:20 before it started. Even with that delayed start, there were audience members who did not get to their seats in time. They were extremely disruptive, even bringing in food (hotdogs and nachos?? Didn't you eat dinner before arriving??) and talking. Even throughout the performance - while I'm all for exposing your children to a cultural event, there were people who brought INFANTS to the performance - I mean, really??? Show a little common sense and consideration for your fellow patrons. And the height of rudeness - leaving BEFORE the end of the performance and the curtain calls. Did you really have to beat the traffic out of the Sun???
