    Absolutely Terrible

by Sfamily113 on 12/17/14Mohegan Sun Cabaret - Uncasville

I bought these tickets for my mother for her birthday. I was embarrassed. The show was terrible, I could not believe the casino would show something this bad. So many people were leaving before intermission, one couple did not even wait two minutes into the show. Overall a horrible experience, the most we got out of it was a good laugh that it was that bad/ that people would pay even $50 for a ticket.

    Disappointing lack luster performance

by Barbara1234 on 12/16/14Mohegan Sun Cabaret - Uncasville

I have seen several ballet companies perform the Nutcracker. I was very disappointed with this one. With the exception of a few dancers, the callibre of the dancing was low overall. Most of the time, the dancers just moved around the stage, with no real dancing which made it quite boring. There was a lot of mime with no music playing which seemed awkward. It didn't flow well. I was looking forward to Dance of Flowers and Dance of the Reids - they were lack luster.

    Albano's Nutcracker

by SouthernMainer on 12/15/14Mohegan Sun Cabaret - Uncasville

This type of event is probably best for people who are into ballet. I did not know what to expect so I went to the show. Because there is no vocal, one has to interpret the story from the actions and dancing. Had I not read some of the written review beforehand, I would have had no idea what was happening. Even with that, I had little idea as to what I was seeing and what it meant. A bright spot for me was the music, The live orchestra did a fine job with the music.

    Albano Nutcracker 2013

by Anonymous on 12/17/13Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I can say this is one ORIGINAL Nutcracker to go to. Enjoyed it every minute and noticed many new dancers young and older who performed right on the money both in dancing and acting their parts. The snow outside that day also added to the performance , making it extra special.

Strong performance at Mohegan Sun 2013

by Anonymous on 12/16/13Mohegan Sun Nutcracker - Uncasville, CT

Trudged through a snowstorm to see Mr. Albano's 2013 version of the Nutcracker at Mohegan Sun and I was quite impressed. The dancers performed right on que and the orchestra didn't miss a beat in synch with the performance. Ballet performances are not my cup of tea, but this one was captivating.. I noticed many new dancers this year young and older, who were superb. If you ever want to see an original Nutcracker Ballet..this is the one to go to. Well done!

The stage was too low & obscured by the orchestra

by UnhappyELF on 12/16/13Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

The music was incredible and I think that the dancing was too but we couldn't see it. We were towards the front of the floor and b/c the stage was low and obscured by the orchestra we couldn't see the footwork. The tickets said it was to start at 7 but it didn't start on time and MANY people were seated late and the ushers had diffulty seating people b/c other people had moved forward and taken their seats. The whole thing was so poorly put together that we left during intermission.

The Orchestra was nice.....The children were nice.....I would say it is more of a neighborhood/community venue. Not as it was portrayed

Saw Albano's Nutcracker last year and it was terrible. Would not go back again even with free tickets. Choreography was terrible and boring.

    Simly Awful

by Anonymous on 12/19/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Albano's Nutcracker was a waste of time and money. The seats were horrible. There was no ballet. It was just people running around. We left at the intermission.

    Albano nutcracker wasn't what expected.

by Shorttie on 12/14/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Definately more for someone who prefers quiet and no speaking from the actors. Would also suggest not gettting floor seats if your a short person. Had trouble seeing over peoples heads. Would suggest seats higher up for these people.

    Disappointed

by Retired222 on 12/12/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I have seen many Nutcrackers in the past and had high hopes for this performance. With the exception of a few very talented ballerinas, the level of the company as a whole was sub-par. The prologue was entirely too long with too much mime and stopping the music multiple times was entirely unnecessary. I noticed many of the audience members left after the first half which in my mind was unfortunate because I felt the second act was much better than the first.

    Albano's Nutcracker

by alecgolf1 on 12/12/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I have seen productions of The Nutcracker all over the Country. This interpretation was one of the worst. In addition, we paid extra for Floor Seats and could not see at thing - an usher had to relocate us so that we could see the stage.

    expected better performance!

by Mason111 on 12/12/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I left at intermission. It was just a bad performance. Seemed like it was a high school talent show.

    Awful

by DisappointedViewerGuy on 12/12/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

So bad that I left 20 minutes into it. The only good thing about it was the memorable music. I've seen the production before, but this version of it was by far the worst.

The orchestra and the performers were extremely good! Loved the music. Would have preferred stadium seats because we could not see the performer's feet being on a floor seat. Very disruptive having floor seats when attendants were seating late arrivals.

Ballet performance great - audience, not so much..

by SkiBabe on 12/23/10Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I thoroughly enjoyed the ballet, which I attended with my husband, daughter, and her boyfriend. We have seen the Nutcracker at the Bushnell, and I must say that I really enjoy the live orchestra over the recorded track. That said, the Mohegan Sun arena, while a nice sized arena for concerts and sporting events, is not the best venue in the world for a ballet. Maybe we've gotten used to a better class of audience going to the Bushnell Theater. The performance was scheduled to begin at 7pm - it was closer to 7:20 before it started. Even with that delayed start, there were audience members who did not get to their seats in time. They were extremely disruptive, even bringing in food (hotdogs and nachos?? Didn't you eat dinner before arriving??) and talking. Even throughout the performance - while I'm all for exposing your children to a cultural event, there were people who brought INFANTS to the performance - I mean, really??? Show a little common sense and consideration for your fellow patrons. And the height of rudeness - leaving BEFORE the end of the performance and the curtain calls. Did you really have to beat the traffic out of the Sun???

    Glorified Dance Recital

by Anonymous on 12/13/10Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I took my mom to this thinking it would be great since it was @ Mohegan Sun! What a mistake! Mr. Albano wrote himself into the Nutcracker and can not even dance!!! Very weird show with limited talent and dancing. Don't waste your money on this one!

    hmmm, no thanks...

by RocknRollDad on 12/13/10Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I took my 13 y/o daughter because it felt like a nice Christmas-y thing to do...I don't care for the event but thought she might. She fell asleep in about 30 mins and at intermission asked if we could leave. I'm sure the performers are very accomplished, but not talking or singing wasnt our cup of tea...Merry Christmas, anyways!
