About

A rotating line-up of guest stars (including Grammy® winner Fantasia, now through Feb. 9; k.d. lang, Feb. 11–March 9; and Toni Braxton & Babyface, March 18–30) headline AFTER MIDNIGHT on Broadway. With 25 sensational singers and dancers, this thrilling new musical brings the glamour of Harlem's Golden Age to a whole new generation.
At the heart of AFTER MIDNIGHT is The Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars, 17 world-class musicians hand-picked by Grammy winner Wynton Marsalis. The timeless songs of Duke Ellington and his contemporaries––woven together by the prose of Langston Hughes––come to life in an evening of cutting-edge song and dance. This experience puts you at the center of one of Harlem’s legendary nightclubs. Award-winning fashion designer Isabel Toledo reinvents the distinctive looks of the era with dazzling costumes. And, as directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, AFTER MIDNIGHT proves that jazz is more than music––it's a state of mind.

Patti LaBelle's performance was stellar in After Midnight! From the costumes to the dancing and vocals, the show was everything and more. I felt like I was transported back in time to the Harlem Renaissance! Spectacular!

    Truly Phenomenal!!!

by Osoblessed on 7/1/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

An absolutely wonderful show, full of energy and raw talent! Dule Hill BELONGS on Broadway - his abundant talents are wasted on Psych. Patti did what Patti does - she entertained. It's unbelievably sad that the show closed early.

After Midnight was an excellent performance. I was wowed for the entire 90 minutes. The dancers were fantastic! Patti LaBelle was as awesome as usual. Dule' Hill did a great job too! I'm sorry it's ending, I would have loved to take my mother to the performance.

The music, dancers and of course Patti nothing could be better! And, who knew Mr. Hill was such a performer. I smiled and tapped my feet from beginning to end. Wish I could have witnessed Harlem after midnight. Great fun.

    After Midnight Enjoyable

by GHACJ on 7/1/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

My friend and I pick a show every year to spend some fun time in the city. After Midnight did not disappoint. It was entertaining, well put together and Patti LaBelle fantastic. For those that want to know, no real story line, no intermission, just song after song and dance numbers of the wonderful times at the Cotten Club.

    Midnight Extravaganza

by Terrie1408 on 6/30/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Patti Labelle was a no show at this event; however, it was worth the trip from the sticks of Brooklyn to congested Times Square. This show took me back to early adolescent when I saw Gregory Hines and his brother for the first time and became familiar with the music and Harlem's history. Will see it again, if offered.

by Taffyissosweet on 6/30/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

I surprised my mother, and my sister, with tickets to see, "After Midnight." They were so amazed by the show, and so was I! Everything, from the singing, to the dancing, was truly an amazing gift to behold in person! We will never forget the mesmerizing performances from the entire cast! That Dule' Hill, is so fine, and incredibly talented! He should star in more productions! Thank you for such a glamorous portrayal of the Harlem's Cotton Club!

I looked forward to seeing this show for quite awhile.. I waited to get my tickets until Patti LaBelle was featured. Had great seats. Unfortunately the night we went Patti had some trouble with her voice, but... Being the preformer that she is she gave it all she had..Goosebumps, what a voice! The dancers were unbelievable- so so talented ! Dule Hill was terrific! Great night , great show!

    LaBelle was disappointing.

by GWLBROOK on 6/30/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

I have seen After Midnight before, so I expected more from Patty LaBelle who was clearly having voice problems. She gamely got through it. But, she's also a pro and you would think that knowing she can't give it 100% that she would suggest an understudy. Someone should have done so. Anyone else would have given a far better performance. Very disappointing.

After Midnight - WHY ARE YOU CLOSING!!

by Bjorn148 on 6/30/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Such a wonderful show full of talented artists. I'm sad to see the show leaving the Great White Way. A true gem. It's great to see an ensemble so on point from top to bottom.

    After Midnight ????

by NanaRaine on 6/29/14Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

I had wanted to see this show several months ago and just could not fit it into my schedule - wish I had - Patti LeBelle was a huge disappointment! She coughed her way thru most of her solo's and then completly forgot a whole line of lyrics during another song - I couldn't believe how poor her performance was. Too bad she can't be let go before the end of her run!
