Ace Frehley Live in Concert

Born Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley in Bronx, New York, Ace Frehley started playing the guitar at 13. He never went to a music school, nor did he ever take a guitar lesson since every member of his family played instruments. He spent the early '70s in a series of local bands. In 1973, he co-founded the American rock band KISS. He departed the band in 1982 and went on to lead a successful solo career. His 1978 solo output -- KISS: Ace Frehley (released as part of the KISS solo albums) -- went platinum. In 1984, he assembled, amongst others, drummer Anton Fig and bassist John Regan to form a group with a name that alternated between Ace Frehley and Frehley's Comet. This group recorded a series of demos throughout 1984 and 1985, and performed their first-ever live show at S.I.R. Studios in New York City on November 30, 1984. In 1987 he released Frehley's Comet and it charted on the Billboard 200. He subsequently returned to KISS in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. In 2004, he tied with Paul Stanley at No. 14 on Guitar World's list of the 100 Greatests Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time. Frehley's influences include artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Albert Lee, among others. In 2014, Frehley, along with the original members of KISS, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His 2020 solo album Origins, Vol. 2, charted on the Billboard 200.

  • Great concert!!

    by D. K. on 1/30/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed the show. He's a huge KISS fan so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Ace Frehley this close to home. The show was great, filled with interesting stories and great songs that kept a fun and steady pace throughout the concert. Ace openly admitted that he couldn't do the shows without the help of his band mates and that was clear since they sang lead on several of the songs. Overall it was a great concert and I am glad we went.

  • Super fun show!

Great energy to enjoy classic rock and more. Not overly processed, real feel to the music and show. My 19 yo grandson enjoyed it thoroughly and is a huge KISS fan.

  • Good show..

by Dave on 1/30/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

First time at brown county music center. Nice venue, Ace was good he did mess up on one kiss song a bit but he caught it pretty quickly.. I can appreciate it myself wasn’t a tape like many others these days.. His band was good, I got sick and missed a few tunes from the bathroom then had to leave a couple songs early.. What I saw and heard was good

  • Fantastic show

by Aerofan on 1/29/24Paramount Theatre - AndersonRating: 5 out of 5

Ace and the band had the place rocking!! Excellent guitar playing all night! Drummer was impressive too! Played some Kiss songs and his classics. 10,000 Volts rocks. Loved the Ace Frehley show.

  • Space Ace rocks it.

by Pman on 1/29/24Paramount Theatre - AndersonRating: 4 out of 5

Energetic show. Sound was a little rough but after first couple songs, it sounded great. Lots of Kiss classics. Great venue. Opener Kore Rozzik was good too.

  • Old but still rocking !

by KokomoBawb on 1/29/24Paramount Theatre - AndersonRating: 5 out of 5

Well I first saw the Ace back in the 70’s I had never seen anything like him before. Now 50 years later ….. When he first came out I thought maybe he’d had a bit too much to drink. Little unsure in his steps. But over the evening I remembered he’s 7 years old than me and duh ! I walk like that. His playing has slowed. His voice is kinda shot. But he still has it ! Fantastic show (no backing tracks here) New songs and many of the old classics. He keeps playing and I’ll keep going to see him. The other 2 dinosaurs can choke on their retirement home jello !

  • Beautiful venue! Sloppy performance.

by TS on 1/29/24Paramount Theatre - AndersonRating: 3 out of 5

The Paramount Theater in Anderson, IN is an absolute great place! Beautiful and the acoustics are perfect. Ace on the other hand was less than great. He and the band were very sloppy. Vocals were terrible at the beginning. It got a little better as the show went on. I have seen Ace many times. This was less enjoyable than all the other times, but still had a good time since I got to be at the front of stage with my Son. He had a great time!

  • Outstanding Show!!

  • Not worth the 2001+ dollars I paid

  • Ace Frehley concert

by Joe on 11/13/23The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was amazing, been waiting to see Ace Frehley again and he preformed great. Had a good opening band also, even though I never heard of them.

  • Pleasantly surprising.

by Special Ed on 11/13/23The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

It actually was a great show. Ace is a phenomenal guitarist. The rest of the band was amazing too. Everyone shared in vocals, singing songs, harmonies were great. Even the drummer was amazing singing lead and drumming at the same time. That always impresses me. Played all the greats. I would definitely recommend the show.

  • Play Your Solo Stuff!

by JMFM on 11/11/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Ace Frehley is my favorite guitarist of all time! I am a HUGE KISS fan, but Ace has had so many good songs in his solo career since then. I just wish he would play more of those songs live. I would love to hear "Shot full of rock""Speedin' Back To My Baby", "Dolls", "In The Night", "Do Ya", "What's On Your Mind", etc, etc. He had plenty of great KISS songs to mix in with these like "2000 Man", "Torpedo Girl"& "Two Sides Of The Coin". I love Ace regardless, don't get me wrong, I just wish he would adjust his setlist. I want to hear the songs that he sung. I will hear the songs that Paul & Gene sing when I go see KISS.

  • A living legend that still rocks.

by ThatMetalHead on 7/26/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Ace Frehley is a true living legend who still has it in him and can hang with the best of the best. The Echo Lounge had a welcoming atmosphere and a friendly staff. The crowd also enhanced the experience as they were into the show from start to finish.

  • Ace Frehely is the ace!

    by D.R. on 7/20/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Ace Frehley and his band put on a great hard rock show. Material from his solo career is good, and the band played a plentiful assortment of great Kiss classics. I enjoyed his banter and stories about song origins. Ace embraces the boy from the Bronx he has always been. My favorite part was when he played by himself a vast selection of guitar solos of famous songs from other artists.

  • Ace at Echo Lounge

    by Jeremy b on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

A great artist and a great venue. Put on a great show a lot of his solo staff with a mix of old classics such as Thin Lizzy‘s emerald which was really cool. A little zeppelin. Among others. And a little KISS of course! Rock On Ace!!

  • Not great

by Listen Linda on 7/18/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Ace did not sound good vocally. Music was good, but his vocals were off, slurred speech. He seemed out of it. Not a good performance from him.

  • Anne Vonier was the BEST host..!

by Ed Simmons on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Anne Vonier was an excellent host..! She was cordial, nice, and went over and beyond to make sure me and my group were satisfied with the VIP lounge area and anything else we needed so I would say that I would give her a five-star rating A+. I can't wait to see another concert at the Echo Lounge here in Dallas. Also it's great that we could actually stand on the side and watch the show or we could also sit down if we needed to pretty good for an older person like myself that has neuropathy in both my legs... So, I will definitely come back to see a show at the Echo Lounge in hope to see Anne Vonier again...!!!

  • Greatness
