Ace Frehley Live in Concert

Born Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley in Bronx, New York, Ace Frehley started playing the guitar at 13. He never went to a music school, nor did he ever take a guitar lesson since every member of his family played instruments. He spent the early '70s in a series of local bands. In 1973, he co-founded the American rock band KISS. He departed the band in 1982 and went on to lead a successful solo career. His 1978 solo output -- KISS: Ace Frehley (released as part of the KISS solo albums) -- went platinum. In 1984, he assembled, amongst others, drummer Anton Fig and bassist John Regan to form a group with a name that alternated between Ace Frehley and Frehley's Comet. This group recorded a series of demos throughout 1984 and 1985, and performed their first-ever live show at S.I.R. Studios in New York City on November 30, 1984. In 1987 he released Frehley's Comet and it charted on the Billboard 200. He subsequently returned to KISS in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. In 2004, he tied with Paul Stanley at No. 14 on Guitar World's list of the 100 Greatests Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time. Frehley's influences include artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Albert Lee, among others. In 2014, Frehley, along with the original members of KISS, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His 2020 solo album Origins, Vol. 2, charted on the Billboard 200.

  • The man, the myth, the legend.

by Robert F. on 11/5/24Sams Town Live - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

For whatever reason Ace doesn’t play up in Sslt Lake, so I went to ‘Vegas to see him. I, also, took the opportunity to do a once in a lifetime thing and did a meet ‘n’ greet too. I met a lot of great KISS/Ace fans both before and after the show. The concert was good. His band played a lot of KISS songs, 1 off his new record. 2 from his ‘78 solo and 1 from his earlier solo records. The crowd was into it. The meet ‘n’ greet went well. There were people saying he didn’t talk or was in a bad mood. Not true. The man is in his ‘70’s and suffers hearing loss from years of playing guitar with no hearing protection. You want to talk to him or have him respond SPEAK UP and he will. We talked briefly and, by speaking up, he heard and responded. I hope to see him again, maybe next time in my neck of the woods. 😊

  • Great Show Ace!

by TBone Brewski on 6/25/24Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show!! Lots of interaction with the audience. Brush up on your Ace Frehley written Kiss songs. He actually asked for any requests at one point but I'm pretty sure he can only do the ones he has credits for. Also, he did some solo jamming of some Zepplin, James Gang, and others. He has a great sense of humor, but you have to know how to recognize it. I really enjoyed this show! Rock on ROCK SOLDIERS!

  • best show, very perfect rock.

  • Some things are better left unsaid

by Not a good show for Ace on 6/24/24Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 1 out of 5

Not a good show last night for Ace in Orlando. He was bellyaching all night about his life issues. Ex-girlfriend suing for $8mill, stabbed in the stomach in the Bronx on his 13th birthday, picked on Kiss member not having a singing voice anymore, yet he does, don’t try to break in his house, he’s got lots of stuff to stop you, complained to the light man, complained about the reverb, and even walked off stage a couple times for some unknown reason leaving the band to play unknown music. I think he might have been changing his shirt. Which he did like 4 times. Strange night. People actually looked at each other , like what the heck? He was much better 5 years ago.

  • A felt like I was hanging out with the band all night.

  • Ace is great!

Love Ace hope he comes back soon! The band was great.

  • Ace

by Th on 6/24/24Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 1 out of 5

Ace is off the wagon and drunk as a skunk. He couldn’t even play the guitar solos he is known for. As a lifelong Kiss fan, I was embarrassed not only for myself, but everyone else in attendance. I spent almost $1000 for my group of 6, and never felt more cheated out of my money than this. Such a disappointment and I will not support or go see Ace again

  • Ace Frehley/Orldano

by Flaco171 on 6/24/24Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Hard Rock Live is a solid place to see bands. Sound was good, large but not too large so it feels intimate enough. The only issue was the chairs on the floor were very tight between rows and most found it difficult getting by each other when leaving your seat. As for the show, the opening band, Sick Dogs, they were very good! Fast rock & roll with a two piece. Ace had a solid backing band and the show was filled with solo and KISS hits. It was fun hearing Ace tell little stories between songs.

  • Spaceman

by Rafa on 6/24/24Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show!!!! I have nothing bad to say about Bruce Kulick or Tommy Thayer, they are bad and a historical part of Kiss. But ACE is the man. A true legend. Keep rockin spaceman

Th show was great. Ace was very great at keeping the audience engaged and they sounded great

  • Great show

by Crissyd71 on 6/19/24Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races - Charles TownRating: 5 out of 5

Ace did a phenomenal job performing. Still sounds great and interacts with the audience. Security should be more spaced out in the venue to keep people at their seats and not crowd the people in the front or the ones in wheelchairs. They did move people from in front of my husband when they blocked his view but we pay for those seats up front and it’s not fair to us for the ones that buys the cheap seats to move up front in front of us or crowd us at our seers to get a better view. You get what you pay for

  • A hard rocking night

by Jeeves on 6/18/24Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races - Charles TownRating: 4 out of 5

Went to see the great Ace Frehley. Amazing. His renditions of Love Gun and Strange Ways were awesome! I still have goosebumps from Love Gun. Rip It Out was off the charts good. His guitar solo was just fantastic. And, to my surprise, he was extremely funny and kept the audience fully engaged. This was on my bucket list and I'm glad I went. It was a bday present for my brother who also really enjoyed the show. Awesome from start to finish.

  • Great show but meet and greet was a rip off

by Star child on 6/18/24Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races - Charles TownRating: 4 out of 5

Ace and the band were excellent. But 500 for a meet and greet and he starts signing and says you only get 5 items if you want more you got to pay more. Hmm. Think supporting him thru his Kiss and years and buying his solo records I have spent enough. Like I said show was great but the meet and greet should have been called just leave your money and leave
