ABBA the Music was just OK

by ksed on 7/2/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

The first half was, for lack of a better word, "flat." Not much energy, lots of dead air. The second half was much better, with the more popular songs, better lighting, and just more energy. The singing was just OK, costumes were amusing. The venue was half empty, so that might account for part of the lack of energy... or the lack of energy might explain the half empty venue. :-P

    Abba delivered tonight!

by Mebsy on 7/2/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

The Abba concert made for a great "date night" for my husband and me (41 yrs. and counting). They put on a great show, and at the end, got us all up on our feet clapping and dancing. Not only did my husband and I have fun, but it was just great to see so many people in the audience, of all ages, singing, laughing, and enjoying this wonderful entertainment , and right in our own town of Rochester. Abba, come back anytime!

    I Really Enjoyed Their Music

by Abbadancer on 3/29/10Hollywood Bowl - Los Angeles

If the group is "Waterloo" from Sweden, then prepare yourself for a very long night of a great performance. I saw them twice at the Hollywood Bowl here in Los Angeles. They performed the majority of the songs from the musical, "Mamma Mia" and even the men performed some of Bjorn and Benny's duo songs too like "Suzy Hang Around" from their Waterloo album. I also loved that they covered my entire favorite song from ABBA, "The Winner Takes It All" and I was moved by that performance. You need to see this performance to understand what the music of ABBA means to us fans. I was a little kid when ABBA was real popular in the 70's, but now i'm 41 and i've been a fan since 1992. You won't be disappointed with their performance, but you will be sad when it ends.
