A Perfect Circle Concert Schedule and Tour

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel have been taking the alternative rock and metal worlds by storm as A Perfect Circle since 2000. The band has been active recently in South America and Australia on a string of festival concert dates in early 2013 after a massive US tour in the summer of 2011. The legendary live dynamics of Howerdel's precision playing and Keenan's world-class rock baritone has fans snapping up tickets rapidly. Concerts consist of simple sets along with an amalgam of music from all three of their albums. They also perform tasteful renditions of some surprising cover songs, as noted in their most recent greatest hits album, Three Sixty (2013).

Howerdel is a former guitar tech for rock-world heavyweights Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins and Fishbone. He and Keenan met in 1992 when Tool was opening for Fishbone. The union began as the brainchild of Howerdel, who had been working on the music for a number of years prior to playing some demos for Keenan. The singer suggested that he could hear himself performing the songs, and the circle was put into motion. Their debut album, Mer De Noms appeared at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The band later produced the 2003 album Thirteenth Step and 2004's eMOTIVe. Keenan and Howerdel share the lineup with top-notch rock royalty James Iha, formerly of Smashing Pumpkins, who holds down rhythm guitar, while bassist Matt McJunkins was picked up from Howeredel's side project, Ashes Divide. Meanwhile, renowned Vandals and one-time Guns 'N' Roses member Josh Freese is featured on drums. A Perfect Circle appeared suddenly, cranked out tons of music and sort of just disappeared, however, years later, the group is now back with another release in a pattern that seems, well, circular.

    Amazing

    by Kingenots68 on 11/12/10Avalon - Hollywood

Perfect Circle is one of the greatest bands ever. The sad thing is it will never be more then a side band! Maynard was amazing and the band sounded great, I saw all three shows and loved ever second! The ticket scalping thing pissed me off I only scored one ticket for the third show. I had to pay three times as much for the first two...LAME! The band get $50 and the scalpers get $100 what have they ever done........KRAMA BABY!

Way too short. It was only one hour. I've never paid so much for so little time in my life. Come on! Throw us a bone! $80,000 for an hour's work isn't bad huh.. Otherwise the show was pretty good. Nothing like Tool, but alright. Maynard didn't have much presence this time around.

APC was worth the 6+ year wait!!!

    by Kimmy41 on 11/12/10Avalon - Hollywood

I am a HUGE fan of all things Maynard and have had the pleasure of seeing him perform live with TOOL and Puscifer, but A Perfect Circle remained elusive. I was beside myself with excitement when I found out they were touring and one of the stops was LA. This show was night 3 of what Maynard called, "the getting to know you tour." They played eMOTIVe in it's entirety in addition to The Noose and the Ice Box remix of 3 Libras. I was BLOWN away. I have been to a lot of concerts in my life and I am such a critic, but I was so moved and literally in awe of the music. I now have a whole new appreciation for the album and the group itself. I am still living in the afterglow of the concert and I am counting down the days until the two APC shows in Vegas next week.

    Amazing Show!

by mrmitchtx on 11/12/10Avalon - Hollywood

What can I say A Perfect Circle never disappoints. Avalon was a great room to see them in as well. If this is a warm up tour I can't wait to the full tour! I'm glad I saw the 3rd night Emotive and to hear the entire album was a treat! As usual Josh Freese amazed me to no end and it was cool to hear Billy singing lead vocals on a few songs.

    APC

by DamagedAshes on 11/11/10Avalon - Hollywood

HEY GUYS!!!! I have never seen so many people packed into a small club. I was on the balcony looking down (Thank god i had a good spot) and i could literally see that there was not wasted square foot in the building. Every single inch had ten people in it. APC!!!!!! You're far bigger then you think you are. Please pay more often ... this proves people are hungry for the music. And play bigger buildings! Club Nokia or Hollywood Palladium could have been a better venue choices. Outside of that .... amazing show! Wish i could have gone all three nights ... really glad to see the second album played in it's entirety!!! Thank you thank you thank you.

    A Chance Of A Lifetime

by PeachyMomma on 11/11/10Avalon - Hollywood

It had been approximately 6 years since A Perfect Circle had performed. It did not seem like it! Every aspect o the show was beautiful! The quality of there music is amplified even more live! From the vocals to the drums, it was absolutely amazing! Even the crowd was not pushy, people were not crowding; it almost seemed as if there was a neutral sense of respect amongst the fellow fans. Whenever I get another chance I will definitely be seeing them again!!

    Perfect In Hollywood!

    by JohnnyLaw71 on 11/11/10Avalon - Hollywood

The Band was tight! Great sound didn't miss a beat. Maynard the most talented musician out there? I say yes. Cheers mate! The only reason this is 4 stars & not 5 was that the light show was missing. Really a band this good needs no other tricks or gimmicks.

    Great comeback!

    by Fd223 on 11/11/10Avalon - Hollywood

I saw APC back in te 90's and they were great. Last night's show is a testament that good musicians just get better with time. Even though these guys had not played together for quite a while, they look like they were enjoying themselves on stage. The music was just great. Josh's drumming is always impressive. The sound in the venue was just loud enough, and crystal clear. I enjoyed every second of it... ok, except "Imagine" for the encore; not a fan of their version at all!

    overcrowded

by afunkychild on 11/10/10Avalon - Hollywood

The band was amazing, as expected, but the Avalon seemed too overcrowded. I have been to shows there in the past and it has never been that packed. It was hard to get a view of the band.

    Niceeee

by ddacay on 11/10/10Avalon - Hollywood

The band was sooo amazing! THey sound better live than on tracks!! They had a guest playing "the outsider", which was awesome! It was short though. and they were so strict about taking videos or pictures. one of the women, told me and this other girl to stop recording with our phone cams or she would kick us out. It sucked. :( Oh well, the band was great!

    Amazing show!!

by CruziePie on 11/10/10Avalon - Hollywood

After a six yeat hiatus, Perfect Circle came back to blow my mind! The show was amazing, they performed Mer De Noms in it's entirety and also one song off their eMotive album...although I would of preferred they had done something off Thirteenth Step, but no complaint here, I got see one of my all time favorite bands, what can I say, I was in absolute heaven. Overall, it was great to see the band onstage together again performing songs from a great album. Unforgettable for sure.
