Watching A Christmas Story with a theater full of other fans of the movie was a fun experience. Having the opportunity to listen to stories and memories from Peter Billingsly himself was a fun, unique and a joy.
I’m glad I booked this event early, as I was in row G. Any further back and this would have been disappointing for me. The movie shown was just a little too small for a theater of that size. Also, when Peter was talking there were no tv/screens to actually see him, especially from the back of the theater. All I all, I enjoyed it, but having larger displays would have been more enjoyable.
Thumbs up to the St. George Theatre for this event! The theatre is lovely, the organ player was fantastic, and the movie is a classic. I attended with a 17 year old and an 18 year old, and we all had a great time. The highlight, of course, was Scott Schwartz! My suggestions for next time would be more cast members in attendance, themed photo ops (the FRAGILE box and a leg lamp, for example), and something to watch on screen while waiting for the Q&A and movie since many of us arrived early due to the General Admission seating (not necessarily something with sound, but at least some imagery).
A Majestic Theater with such history & charm. This was perfect to watch A Christmas Story. Great Family fun & Memories. The staff is also friendly and helpful.

I made goof to the Alabama Theater to watch The Christmas Story years ago. It was really nice to pick that back up this. My daughter and I attended and had a wonderful time! I look forward to next year.
The Alabama Theater Christmas movies are the best! This was our first year to go to a matinee and it was not as crowded. We loved getting to sit on the floor level! There were 8 in our group and we had no trouble finding seats together! This is a yearly tradition for us that we plan to continue! We saw our favorite Christmas movie! Love the organist and the sing-a -long!!

Nothing starts off our holiday like a Christmas movie at the Alabama Theater! It is a wonder to behold! The energy of the crowd drums up Christmas spirit. Brant Beene is leading this organization so well-the theaters have never been more glorious!

A Christmas Story - Excellent movie that I've never seen before. I sure hate that I've missed it up until now! The experience was exceptional as always. The Alabama Theatre is a treasure, as is Gary Jones as the host on the Mighty Wurlitzer! It all made for a fun family night that is part of our annual Christmas tradition. Thank you!
My husband and I see A Christmas Story every year at the Alabama Theatre. We love everything about this experience, especially Gary playing the sing-a-longs on Bertha.
All events at the Alabama Theatre have an ambiance and an energy that has a higher vibration than your typical venue. The tree is decked to the ceiling, and the atmosphere is joyfully electric. It feels like a Major Award just to be able to attend! People are always so polite! And the adult beverages, hotdogs, snacks and fruit and cheese tray really hit the spot. GET THERE EARLY to claim your seat! This venue is popular with ALL generations, and justly so, with it's art deco-japanese-gilded dragon gaudiness circa 1927, and the decorations and perfect restoration. Sing along, watch cartoons, and just have a good time. Perfect holiday funness in a perfect setting.
