Thoroughly enjoyed the concert, she did a wonderful job of bringing the Carpenter's music to life.
It was so fun hearing those wonderful songs. Singer sounded wonderful and the winds and percussion were music to my ears. It was a wonderful time!!
The Carpenters Christmas show was held at the Hinckley Grand Casino. The entire building was full of stale cigarette smoke. The auditorium did not allow smoking, but the odor remained. My clothes reeked of smoke afterwards. This is not healthy air to breathe. The show itself was a disappointment. While Michelle Whited did her very best to emulate Karen Carpenter, she was off key at times and the show was disjointed and full of glitches. It seemed as though the band had not practiced the show enough to work our the glitches. The band was average at best and did not significantly add to the presentation. The show used some canned music as background music to fill out the sound. Michelle Whited seemed uncomfortable between songs. It seemed as if she did not know how to converse with the audience between songs. Very limited dialogue. All considered, the concert was a big disappointment. I attended a different Carpenters concert at the Chanhassen Theater, and the overall quality of the music and performance was light years ahead of this show. I would not pay to see this again. And I would not go back to Grand Casino either.
I loved the songs and the singer and band. The venue wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked. The chairs had no arms and were very close together so I was touching the people next to me. Uncomfortable throughout.
It was a fun show filled with memories of the carpenters. The singers and the band were terrific I would highly recommend it for And those who are unfamiliar with their music
This was a really fun lighthearted show, mixed with holiday and classic hits. The venue I attended was very small so everyone had a great seat, sound was good too.
This show is FANTASTIC! There are a lot of Carpenter’s Tribute acts out there now, but this show is the “real deal”. The five member band does a beautiful reproduction of the Carpenter’s rich, complex, and unique sounds. And Michelle Whited?! Oh my gosh!!! I am in love with her Karen Carpenter voice. I never thought anyone could come close to sounding like Karen, but Michelle effortlessly delivers an identical rendition. Sitting in the audience listening to Michelle sing is like listening to Karen. I honestly can’t tell the difference. Ms. Whited has a true gift from God, and I believe Karen is living on from above through Michelle. If you want to experience a true Carpenter’s tribute, don’t waste your time or money on the many other tribute attempts. Get tickets to this group and prepare to leave in awe; full of the melodic memories of The Carpenter’s as only The Carpenter’s Tribute featuring Michelle Whited can and do deliver. If they aren’t scheduled to appear in your area, contact your favorite venue and request them. You will be on “Top of the World” after experiencing this stellar performance.
The show was advertised as a Christmas Shiow but other than a handful of Christmas songs it was lacking any XMas feeling. We envisioned a nice Christmas setting but there wasn’t even one Christmas tree, Very poor set design. In addition the singer was pitchey. It was nice to hear the Carpenters songs again, but she was no Karen Carpenter. Very disappointed and sorry we spent the money as well as the long drive from Anthem.
This was a disappointment! We went for a carpenter Christmas concert expecting mostly if not all Christmas songs. I think there were maybe three. She sings Karen beautifully, and if I went to a regular carpenters concert that would have been great. But we all went for Christmas and that’s not what we got! Would not go again.
Michelle Whited was amazing in the recreation of the Carpenters sound! Every song was a great reminder of just how great Karen and Richard were. We were blown away with the show and would definitely would recommend this show!!!
If you were to close your eyes you think you were hearing Karen Carpenter. The band was very good as well. The downfall of the show was there was no engaging the audience. It was song after song with no dialogue in between. I could have stayed home and listen to a CD. Too bad, such talent was up on that stage.
