About

VALIENT THORR IN CONCERT:

According to frontman Valient Himself, metal rock collective Valient Thorr hails from the planet Venus and was sent to Earth to redeem humans with epic rock anthems. If that concept sounds out-of-this-world, just wait until the band unleashes its magic in concert. Valient Himself (yep, that's his name) is a captivating frontman who belts out politically charged and thought-provoking songs grounded in good ol' fashion rock. The rest of the band -- aptly named Eidan Thorr, Sadat Thorr, Lucian Thorr, and Dr. Professor Nitewolf Strangees -- unleashes a blend of hardcore metal and '70s groove rock, drawing comparisons to Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy. Eidan and Sadat's twin guitar attack is especially impressive as they trade off heavy-hitting and rhythmically funky leads. Both new and diehard fans -- nicknamed Thorriors -- are treated to one heck of a party that leaves them thoroughly rocked to their core.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Led by dynamic frontman Valient Himself, metal outfit Valient Thorr formed in 2000 in Chapel Hill, NC. They self-released their 2003 debut album Stranded On Earth before inking a deal with Volcom Entertainment. In 2005 they released their majel label debut Total Universe Man, supporting the album with a tireless touring schedule that found them playing an average of 250 shows per year, including performances alongside well-known acts Andrew WK, Joan Jett and the Black Hearts, Eagles of Death Metal, and Gogol Bordello. In 2008 they released their critically acclaimed fourth album Immortalizer as well as the documentary In Heat, which chronicled their previous five years on the road. From 2009-10 they toured in support of metal heavyweights Mastodon before joining metal royalty Motorhead on their 2011 North American tour. Since releasing their sixth studio album, 2013's Our Own Masters, they've continued to deliver bone-crushing performances to rage-ready ticket buyers.
