The Local Honeys and Town Mountain at the Bijou

by Curly Kim on 2/18/24Bijou Theatre - Knoxville

The Bijou is my favorite Knoxville performance venue. There’s not a bad seat in the place. And, because of its size, it feels incredibly intimate for every performance held here. The Local Honeys were the opening act. This was not the full band, just the lead singers which made it a special performance!! When I say that that the Bijou is an intimate location for any performance, it was only magnified by the beautiful stories that they told about their home, their family and their experiences. Their musical talent is exceptional. Town Mountain was the headliner and they did not disappoint. It was such a great show, but what was even better was seeing the interaction between the artists. I caught a bunch of really cool pictures of them smiling at each other. While each of the band members are talented, the fiddle player was “the sleeper”. He was phenomenal, and I didn’t expect that level of skill from him. He absolutely rocked that instrument!! The band came out and it was obvious that they were having so much fun. It was palpable and contagious. I found myself tapping my foot throughout the performances by both bands. If you have the opportunity to see either of these bands, jump!! As always, I highly recommend seeing any and all performances offered by The Bijou!! Bravo to all!

    Good, but off

by Townie on 1/29/24Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

Loooong time Town Mountain fan, but they completely stopped by playing their old stuff. I'm OK with change and showcasing your new work, but show up for your fans. Mercury Ballroom is not a good venue...the sound guys let down the bands and the fans...drinks are junk AND way over priced. This was my and last time going to anything at Mercury Ballroom. John R Miller is always on point.

    Worst venue in Louisville

by Consumer on 1/29/24Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

You would think that since Mercury Ballroom charges a fortune for a drink, maybe that they would invest that money in decent sound. Not the case last Friday. One whole set dealt with a constant hum on the verge of a screech. Just a Cracker Jack box venue where the sound sucks and drinks cost way too much. Wish bands could just ditch live nation and Ticketmaster venues and just play nice places.

    Town Mtn

by AL on 8/22/22The Southern Cafe & Music Hall - Charlottesville

They started their set 35 minutes late and took a very long intermission. There are those of us who actually have lives that require some attention to time. Based on the few samples I heard on their website and how they were described I was anticipating more of a bluegrass band. Instead they were more like "country rock" or "roadhouse country." Good music but not what I was expecting or wanting.

    Great show!!!!

by MIMI on 6/20/22Bijou Theatre - Knoxville

One of the best shows I have been to at the Bijou. Town Mountain really delivered a rambunctious show to the delight of everyone around us. Mandolin player sure played his heart out. Vocals were top notch. All around a GREAT SHOW!!!? Can't wait to see Town Mountain again.
