About

The Promise dramatizes the greatest story ever told - from the creation, to Christ's birth, life, death, and resurrection.  Performed by Branson's largest cast of singers, dancers, and performers, The Promise enables you to rejoice for two hours in God's promise to us all.

Although the story itself will always be the same, THE MANSION's goal is to create a production that is awe-inspiring and spectacular.  The owner and general manager of THE MANSION worked with the author of The Promise to create a revised script and show that take advantage of the remarkable production capabilities and state-of-the-art sound and lighting at THE MANSION.

This extravaganza - a moving musical - chronicles Jesus' life from birth to resurrection and ascension. The Promise's scenes tell Jesus' story from the Prophets, the Angel appearing to Mary, from John the Baptist at the River Jordan, and from God's narrative..."this is my one true son!"

Jesus' portrayal is so poignant, and the role of Satan is well written and played - creating a character who is both enigmatic and ominous.  His presence is not always acknowledged by the others in the scenes; sometimes his entrances and exits go almost undetected!  The exchange between Jesus and Satan during Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness if very powerful.

The wedding at Cana is a nice segment, complete with a Jewish wedding ceremony with dance and of course - the miracle of turning water into wine.  Many other stories and characters are presented during The Promise - the storm at sea - the marketplace - we meet the adulteress - the blind man - Lazarus - and see him rise from the dead!

Although the world knows how the story ends - there is a mounting of tension and drama throughout the trial, crucifixion and Jesus' glorious ascension.
