PBR: Professional Bull Riders on Tour
For a rodeo rider, trying to master a feisty horse is tough enough, a task not to be taken lightly, but bearing down on a big bull increases the scariness quotient considerably. That's one of the things that makes watching a pro bull rider so compelling — it's thrilling and frightening in equal measure as you marvel at the riders' skills while praying that they make it out unscathed.
These days, when it comes to bull riding, it's all about PBR: Professional Bull Riders. The organization started back in 1992 as a grassroots effort spearheaded by a handful of riders with a vision for what the sport could offer to fans. PBR grew by leaps and bounds over the decades, and by the 2010s they were sponsoring three major tours every year, adding up to hundreds of events with millions of dollars in prizes being awarded annually.
Needless to say, attending a PBR event means watching the best bull riders in the business strutting their stuff. Over the years, champs like J.B. Mauney, Kody Lostroh, Justin McBride, Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers, and Tuff Hedeman have all distinguished themselves as decorated heroes of the PBR, giving all the rest a high standard to which they could aspire. And each of their tours offer fans the opportunity to catch some bull riding history in the making, be it the Unleash the Beast Series that ends with the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, The Velocity Tour that showcases the rising stars of the PBR, or the Touring Pro Division split into Western, Central, and Eastern regions.
Whichever PBR competition you end up catching, there's one common thread. You're guaranteed to see some world-class athletes reaching deep inside themselves to tap into the best of their talents and give rodeo lovers an unforgettable experience.
Had an absolutely amazing time at multiple days of the world finals for the PBR. They always put on a great show and Dickies is the perfect size venue for the event.
Accustomed to watching on TV but really wanted that in person experience. Everything seemed to move slowly. Time between rides took too long. Even though there were some riders at both ends of the arena it just wasn’t enough to stay engaged. Maybe if the rides were split one on one end & then one on the other it could move more efficiently.
the 6 people sitting next to us were let in for free to be "seat fillers'. Our two tickets cost almost $400 total (direct from ticketmaster and not resale). Very irritating!
My whole family enjoyed the event including my three year old grandson who thinks he is a bull rider. Dickie’s Arena is a great venue. This event needs to come back.
Pbr finals should have just been kept in Vegas. There’s no night life in Texas to enjoy after a big event.
Great show. Just need to keep it moving a little. wasted time!!
a wonderful experience but wish there had been more local publicity in local papers to keep up with standings. afraid they will go back to Vegas next year.
Very entertaining as always, Dickies arena in fort Worth was a beautiful place. We had a great time
The PBR events never fail to impress. The entire set up from arena, commentary, hosts and entertainment is superb. Dickies Arena is a great location but bring a jacket the Air Con was way to low. Ticket prices were steep which will explain why on at least two of the days the arena was half empty.
Had a blast! Wishing i could go back for the final day this Sunday! Will definitely go back if given a chance to!
Attended the PBR world finals in Ft Worth and it was everything and more than we thought it would be. SO many events to attend, many free. The stockyards was magical with parades, shopping, tons of bars and restaurants, live music and everything western. I would highly advise attending this event. We will return yearly.
We had the best seats in the house! Decent pricing and easy to purchase. Shpw was amazing, me and my kids loved it!
Great venue to host the PBR !! We totally enjoyed every part !!
Fabulous camera work. Replays really helped. Would have enjoyed seeing the bulls’ profiles on difficulty. Great experience!
I couldn’t have asked for a better show and a better time. Will definitely be going back!
I bought VIP the cameraman was blocking our view!! Grrrrr
Bought “arena side” tickets for a fortune. I’m staring at the VIP section. They don’t tell you that they block off this portion when you pay over $100 for a ticket. Terrible!
We have gone to PBR every year since they have come to the Cross Insurance Center and we love it every time! So entertaining and fun. Cant wait to go again in March!
This was an amazing event held at one of the closest arenas used for this rodeo sport. The PBR Velocity Tour Finals is always a highlight preview of what is best to come for the upcoming PBR World Finals. Nothing but Bull Riding. Hope to see more at South Point.
This was a great show. Went with friends and wasn't sure if I would be entertained throughout the entire event but a great job was done by the team to keep you engaged throughout. Only complaint was the no purse policy that wasn't communicated clearly. There were so many emails about covid policy and entrance requirements but nothing about purses being regulated. We were told that this was an NHL policy, which is fine but not everyone entering the arena is an NHL fan and aware. There were so many angry people as a result. If you did the responsible thing and took a cab or a taxi you were out of luck with a place to put it
