Boy, this has been a wonderful concert year for me. First, Prince comes to the historic Forum and I get the opportunity to see him perform on four wonderful nights with a myriad of special guests. Then, on September 23, 2011, I enjoyed Fdeluxe with special guest Wendy and Lisa at the Largo Room. To see St. Paul, Susannah, Jellybean and Eric Leeds performing together was simply amazing. But last night, to see The Original 7ven at Club Nokia, I knew that I had seen one of the best series of concerts in over ten years. I could not believe how good the guys looked together and their playing and camaraderie was on point. Jesse Johnson blew the house away with his powerful guitar mastery. Jellybean on the drums, Monte and Jimmy Jam on the keyboards, Terry on the bass and Morris and Jerome were all in rare form. My sister and I were on our feet dancing for the majority of the night. If you haven’t gotten the new CD, get it! I love “Strawberry Lake”. The boys are back and others will have to bow down to The Original 7ven.
