Nelly in Concert
Ranked as the fourth best-selling rap artist of all time by the Recording Industry of America, Nelly has become a symbol of rap's crossover success in mainstream pop music. With over 21 million albums sold in the US alone, his pop-infused hip hop and unique vocal delivery have earned him six Top 10 albums and made him a live concert favorite. His seventh studio album, 2012's M.O., features hit singles "Hey Porsche" and "Get Like Me," a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Pharrell. Born Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr. in 1974, Nelly got his first taste of musical success with the St. Louis hip hop collective St. Lunatics. In 2000, he launched his solo career with No. 1 debut album Country Grammar, which showcased his signature Southern drawl mixed with a Midwestern twang. 2002 follow-up Nellyville also peaked at No. 1 and included the international smash " Hot in Herre," which earned him a Grammy in 2003 for Best Male Rap Solo Performance. On 2013's M.O. tour, Nelly treated ticket buyers to his greatest hits, earning rave reviews for his upbeat stage presence and charismatic performances.

The whole place was so energetic and fun. I wish the sound system was a little better but otherwise had a blast. The only thing that was disappointing was Nelly did not provide any merch to buy. My daughter who went with me really wanted a shirt. Sad that a ni came artist who opened the show had merchandise and Nelly did not.
We were so excited for Nelly. First thing we notcied was that Nelly brought absolutely NO merchandise what so ever. This show appeared to be done cheap. Vocal sound was awful. Didn't even know it was Nelly singing had he of not said I thank you...he was on stage w 4 other guys that totally overpowered him. Nelly sounded like his voice is gone. So disappointed. Glad I got tickets for just $39 or I would have been livid. All of the shows sounded awful. Best part of the show was not actually part of the show but a DJ playing music from the time the doors opened until the show started.
This was the worst concert ever and I don’t know even where to begin. 1. I don’t even know who those beginning acts were and neither was it advertised as several opening acts. 2. The music was so loud that you couldn’t hear the singing of artists. 3. I have been to so many concerts at the Food City Center and I have never ever seen the main act start at 11 pm. All the shows I have been to were over by 11 pm. People were walking out before Nelly ended his set. That was unacceptable.
Nelly and Knoxville owes me nothing‼️ The concert was fire‼️‼️ It was over for me when the St. Lunatics came out🔥‼️
Loved everything from start to finish. Was a dream come true to see him,Ashanti and bone thugs and harmony
I loved the arena love the seating, but the concert was way too loud. You couldn’t understand what they were saying. And you had people smoking in the audience cigars vapes, marijuana I wanted to leave, but I didn’t want to waste my money. I will be back to that arena, but it will be for a basketball game.
DJs were great and kept the whole stadium hopping. Bone Thugs N Harmony was great. Ashanti was good. After Ashanti left stage, DJs left the stage and it went to a low tone music and a blue light. It was 45mins before Nelly came out. We were all tired, heard 4 half songs, he didnt sing one whole one, then left.
Had a grt time everyone was grt. Nelly bone n Ashanti
Show was phenomenal. Great energy from start to finish!
It seemed like the cheapest production ever! I have no idea why there is 25 minutes per a set change when they didn’t do anything. There is no live video only once seemed to be an Instagram real behind them. Bone thugs, Ashanty, and Nelly were fantastic, but they could’ve been more.
Nelly sent no merchandise so he had no tshirts highly disappointed. Bone Thugs and harmony didn't take the stage until 830 the first hour was just djs and people you never heard of too much down time in between nelly didn't even take the stage until 11pm highly disappointed
While Nelly himself put on a great show, the concert experience was lackluster. Poor sound quality and extremely loud. The only way you could understand the words were to put your fingers in your ears. Almost rushed through the show. Extremely long breaks in between performers all while they were playing slow jazz music. We were almost asleep before Nelly came out at 11:00 pm! There was no hype. Ashanti was raunchy and unsettling honestly. She has great songs and vocals, but her graphics and lackluster showmanship took away from the good things. Glad I saw Nelly and Bone Thugs & Harmony, but there won’t be a repeat.
The Nelly concert was amazing!! However, he didn’t send ANY merchandise to the concert. This was such a bummer. The people selling the other performers merchandise said Nellys manager said “he’s just hit and miss with some places.” Would have loved to have gotten some sort of memorabilia, especially after being a fan of his from the beginning.
This was the worst concert I have ever attended. I never knew who was on stage; there was always a crowd of at least ten people standing on the stage doing nothing, even if someone was performing. There were constant air horn sounds, and the DJ interrupted every song, and they maybe sang 1 minute of each song. We had to wait for Nelly so long that fans actually fell asleep. This was the first concert I’ve attended that didn’t sell merch for the headliner. The other performers' merchandise looked like it came straight from Etsy (cheap). We were really excited about this concert, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations.
Going to be honest with this review. Concert was too long and too loud. Nelly didn’t come on until almost 11 pm. Start time of concert was 7:30, but it started with random people that weren’t on the original docket. Nelly came on late, and it felt like he rushed through it, only singing for an hour. It was so loud that you couldn’t understand what they were saying. People were also smoking at their seats. All in all, it was not a good experience.
Enjoyed Nelly and Ashanti did provide good show. I was not as excited about opening acts and believe they took up too much of the time making Nelly having to rush. Really did not like the fact that so many people were in there vaping and smoking the whole time. You would think the vapes would setoff something coming in. There was at least 4-5 people right by us using them.
It took Nelly 30 minutes to come out they dragged it out so much not a good experience was expecting way better
Nelly was great but there were way too many opening acts and way too much down time. Nelly didn't even step on stage until after 10:30. It's hard to keep your energy up for that long.
Terrible openers, sound system was awful. All you could hear was the music and maybe every few words said. Wouldn’t waste my money again!
