MODEST MOUSE IN CONCERT:

Indie rock veterans Modest Mouse enjoy a level of mainstream success that few other indie acts can touch. While the band's intelligent lyrics and expertly crafted songs made them critical darlings in the early '00s, their eclectic live shows earned them legions of fans. With their first new album in five years due out in 2014, Modest Mouse are gearing up for headlining slots at the Boston Calling and Shaky Knees music festivals. Fans lucky enough to catch the band at these rare appearances will be among the first to hear material from the new album — performed alongside all of their greatest hits, of course.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Washington in 1993, Modest Mouse found an early home on legendary indie labels K Records and Sub Pop. After moving to Up Records for their 1996 debut full-length, the band achieved breakthrough success with 1997's Lonesome Crowded West, which drew praise from critics and earned them a cult following. While 2000's The Moon & Antarctica was another success, it was 2004's Good News for People Who Love Bad News that really broke things wide open — the album went multi-platinum and brought the band their first chart exposure with hit singles "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty." In 2007, the band's fifth studio album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, effectively rendering their indie status null and securing their position as a festival headline-caliber act.

Previously, Modest Mouse has sold out venues to capacity, like Tabernacle and the Rose Bowl.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"They were honestly amazing. They played with so much energy, played about 20 songs, and absolutely tore the place down. A must see if you get a chance."

"The sounds, the lights, and the crowd were unbelievable. Isaac really blows your mind, his beautiful music and lyrics had the entire crowd swaying with their eyes closed. It was an event I will never forget..."

"Modest Mouse put on an amazing show. Every song sounded even better than the studio version."

    Best show ever

    by KumKardashian on 8/16/23

This was the best modest mouse performance I have ever seen. The venue is very small so it felt like you could reach out and touch Isaac. They played two shows back to back. I was at the second show. They brought so much energy.

    Sounded great

    by rograbt on 7/16/23

Opening for Weezer in Michigan, they sounded great. Would have liked to hear some of their newer songs, but I know there’s only so much time for an opening act.

    Disappointed

by Disappointed on 6/26/23GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand Rapids

Opening band (guy) was just awful. Modest Mouse went into the encore before playing a hit song.

    Short set, terrible opener.

by Nate on 6/20/23GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand Rapids

Blanket was so bad that people were just laughing in the crowd. Glorified Karaoke. The band played an hour set and an encore. It was as good not great.

Band was probably good, venue lousy

by Immodest Rat on 6/20/23GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand Rapids

Fans of Modest Mouse likely enjoyed this show. Opener Mattress was weird, goofy, and enjoyable. MM was fine, but GLC 20 Monroe Live made no attempt to curb smoking of any kind. Far too many people in GA. We had to bail because my wife couldn’t breathe.

    Bad mixing

by PiKa on 6/10/23Bayou Music Center - Houston

The mixing was terrible, the drums were so loud we could not hear the singer. This is not the first time this happens to me in Houston, so what is wrong with sound engineers.

by Ash on 6/10/23Bayou Music Center - Houston

This was my 3rd time seeing Modest Mouse live, and it was hands down the best concert I’ve ever seen. This was the first time I’ve seen them in an indoor venue. Isaac Brock absolutely rocked my face off! Much love to this amazing musician.

    MM never fails

by JMack on 12/30/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

I really like seeing bands play an old album in its entirety. Modest Mouse did a great job with the lonesome crowded west. I hope they tour the next album, the moon and Antarctica. This was my third sold out show at the Fillmore Philadelphia. It’s one of my least favorite venues to see a sold out show. The floor is large but it gets really crowded. The balconies are not GA and only accessible for an additional charge. I’d much rather go to 9:30 club or union transfer.

    Performance goes downhill

by Otulu on 12/16/229:30 CLUB - Washington

Isaac was progressively more inebriated as the night went on. In the middle set he was knocking over his white claw. At the end he was slurring, staggering, and lying on the stage. At the end the music was just a unrecognizable mess.

One of the best live shows I've ever seen!

by Ez on 12/15/22The Sylvee - Madison

    25th Anniversary Tour

by Chris on 12/14/22The Sylvee - Madison

All they played was thier first album. No where on the advertisement was that stated. And the opening act named "Mattress" was comedy, and pretty bad at that. Definitely a let down. Buyer beware.

    Great experience VIP

by Amandy on 12/10/22Fillmore New Orleans - New Orleans

We upgraded to the VIP experience foe the concert. We were able to enter over an hour early, recieved signed poster, bag and fancy cup. laid back, got to chill by the bar and purchase merch before the crowd. Once everyone was in, we were escorted to the pit, at the time promised, where we got to enjoy a preshow jam session with the band, as well as q&a. We were told we had time to brong our merch to our cars if we chose to before general admission fans entered. Whe
