Eliot Paulina Sumner was born in Tuscany but raised in England by parents Sting and Trudie Styler. Growing up surrounded by music, Eliot started playing instruments at an early age and was penning original songs by 15. They signed with Island Records at age 17 under the moniker I Blame Coco and released their debut album The Constant, a shimmering slice of electropop that landed on charts across Europe and spawned the popular singles "Self Machine" and "Quicker". After successful collaborations with artists like Sub Focus and Miike Snow, they released the 2014 EP Information under the name Eliot Sumner. The record explored a more rock-oriented new wave sound, earning praise from critics and drawing Eliot out for an international tour with Swedish pop sensation Lykke Li. Eliot continues to defy categorization, both in their personal life and with stellar releases like their 2016 sophomore album Information.
