Pretty Lights puts on an amazing show!!

by slicksheos on 7/11/09Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Diesel Boy's music made my head spin (in a bad way) as I waited for Pretty Lights to come on. His background and light show was cheezy but the music was unbelievable. He really knows how to work the crowd and his original songs are awesome.

    Pretty Lights does NY right

by littlekel on 7/11/09Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The show at Bowery reached both ends of the spectrum. Diesel Boy was too fast and too base thumping without enough soul. I did not enjoy his set. During his set, the real party was outside Bowery on the street with the smokers and the wookies. When Diesel Boy finished his set there was a sigh of relief in the crowd. Everyone was clearly here to see Derek. Pretty Lights set was incredible. Derek rocked out all night and it was awesome to see Corey right there beside him, holding it down. They are a great tag team. While Derek is a party in his own right, Corey definitely brings something extra to the music. The two of them together feed off of one and other and the crowd, there is just nothing like it.
