Classic hard rockers Danava are known for their complex guitar riffs and psychedelic and progressive rock leanings. Composed of vocalist/guitarist Greg Meleney, bassist Dominic Casciato, guitarist Kerby Strom, and drummer Matthew Oliver, the band has gone through a few lineup changes since originally forming in 2003.
Having amassed a loyal fanbase far beyond their hometown of Portland, Oregon, the band has toured the world, bringing their tight and energetic live sets to festivals throughout Europe. Adept at reimagining '70s classic hard rock in the vein of Black Sabbath and Rush, Danava have released three studio albums.

Danava was formed in 2003 in Portland, Oregon by childhood friends Greg Meleney and Monte Mattsson, who met while growing up in Quincy, Illinois, as well as Zachariah Dellorto-Blackwell and Ben Vargas.
Over the next two decades, every member with the exception of Meleney would leave the band, but their hard rock and psychedelic metal aesthetic remained consistent over the years, and allowed them to maintain a loyal fanbase.
Named for an ancient race of Hindu demigods and demons known as Danavas, the band released their first demo in 2004 and signed with Kemado Records in 2005. They released their self-titled debut album in 2006, and toured extensively in support of the project, steadily growing their fanbase.
Following the band's critically acclaimed 2011 album Hemisphere of Shadows, Danava took a long break from recording. The hard rock anti-heroes have finally returned to put out the highly anticipated full-length Nothing But Nothing in April 2023 via Tee Pee Records.
