About

City Girls in Concert

City Girls bring the dynamic energy of Miami to whatever city they're in. Their live show is a body-shaking flurry of hip-hop beats and inspired trash-talk; a modern twist on everything from Miami bass to New Orleans bounce that nods toward their foremothers Salt-N-Pepa. The Miami duo combine the enthusiasm (and backup dancers) of the '80s and '90s with the boss attitudes of the YouTube era while performing chant-along hits like "Act Up," "Twerk" and "Where the Bag At."

City Girls Background

Caresha "Yung Miami" Brownlee and Jatavia "JT" Johnson have been best friends since middle school, where they absorbed the music of local heroes like Trick Daddy, Jacki-O and Trina as well as Nicki Minaj and Atlanta trap. The pair recorded the scabrous "Fuck Dat Nigga" as a joke inside the home studio of Johnson's father and uploaded it to SoundCloud ā€” but the joke quickly ended up grabbing the attention of Quality Control Music. Soon they became the first women signed to the label of Migos, Lil Baby and Lil Yachty. Only months after releasing their debut album, Period, in 2018, City Girls were featured on the No. 1 song in the country ā€” that's them on Drake's "In My Feelings" answering his calls "Resha, do you love me?" and "JT, do you love me?" Their follow-up, Girl Code, was released in November of that same year and they continued to build momentum with guest appearances from Lil Baby, Jacquees and Cardi B. The lead single "Twerk" and the Yachty co-written "Act Up" both cracked the Top 40.

    A waste of money

by Unsatisfied on 9/5/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

This was one of the worst concerts I have ever been to. I was super excited to go because I am a fan of the city girls. It sad that the person who hosted the show was on stage for 2 hour of the show. The city girls barely performed and mostly stood around and was on stage less than 20 mins. The fact I drove 1 1/2 there and back this was a complete waste of my time.

    The izzznihheee

    by Maxali on 10/15/22

I flew in from Virginia . Originally from Miami, opalocka to be exact right after 32nd near the Walgreens. Iā€™m so happy I came. Yung Miami ( everyone in Florida call her by her govt sometimes tho lol & she donā€™t like it so imma say Yung Miami) and JT were lit. They did a perfect amounts of songs and gave enough that makes you want more. I donā€™t want them opening. We need them main stage majority. They are lit. The crowd was hype when they got on but I had the munchies and had to get the nachos and look from the background. A ninja nearsighted anyways so contacts and floor 3 it is. Iā€™m waiting by jack Harlow but Iā€™m not trynna offend but he doesnā€™t mean as much as they do to me. Lol first class pop in but Iā€™m a Florida baby... canā€™t give up my city girls. And Iā€™m jealous I didnā€™t get floor seats. The city girls were dancing and twerking on people. Too good of a performance.. Iā€™ll be back for sure.

    Never again

by Keira on 11/11/21The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

This was the worst concert Iā€™ve ever been to in my life. I paid over 800 for 3rd row. 42 Dugg never showed up and city girls performed for less than 30 mins. Not to mention they was over 2 hours late. They never said goodbye or thanked us for coming, just left off the stage. Iā€™m only supporting legends from now on. I was really disappointed
