I haven't been to a live show this excellent in years. Cibo Matto has such good energy, and even the newer songs that I'm not as familiar with yet had me dancing enthusiastically. Would highly recommend the band.

Rating: 5 out of 5by OdessaEyre on 7/2/15Brighton Music Hall - Boston Rating: 5 out of 5 AWESOME NEW BEATS!
by ajdkjojkajdfkj on 2/12/14The Sinclair - CambridgeFirst, I had never been to this venue. It's very centrally located in Harvard Square. When you go in, there is a coat check ($2 per item) and a large bar area. In the back, there is the stage area with a balcony. There is a bar in each section. The opening act was Salt Cathedral. They sound like Bjork a little, but have beats like Yuka Honda. They were great. I was surprised, because I never give openers much credit. Cibo Matto was awesome! I thought the sound was great. They played old and new music and performed an encore. The guitarist was new, but was good. They played their new music from Hotel Valentine that is being released 2/14/2014. I heard the new album on NPR and liked it, but it was so much better live, which I really like about a band. I would see them again!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Cibo Matto/Sinclaire perfect fit.
by MikeyCrayons on 2/11/14The Sinclair - CambridgeI am a Boston resident my whole life. I travel a lot to see shows because I'm a bit of an audio/venue snob and I don't like seeing favorite bands in sub par locales. The Sinclaire is quality all around. I love that space. Cibo Matto was excellent and sounded amazing. I stood above the sound board and had the opportunity to stand exactly where I would have chosen in a dream. I had a commercial exchange with the band members themselves after the show and received an autographed LP as well as a bad ass t shirt. Cibo Matto rules. The Sinclaire was a perfect choice for them. Thank you for offering such a kickass show!!
Rating: 3 out of 5 miho seriously out of tune
by asdf7 on 2/11/14The Sinclair - Cambridgecibo matto's comeback tour a couple of years ago was pretty good, but this show, one of the first of their new tour, had some major issues. the main one was miho's vocals: she was completely out of tune, particularly on some of the new songs. the set was short, less than an hour, but if it had all been as great as the classics like "sci fi wasabi" and "know your chicken" that may have been forgiven, but as it was this was a very average performance overall.
Rating: 1 out of 5 Very disappointing
by draughtmanus on 7/24/11Brighton Music Hall - BostonUninspired performance, too short (less than 1 hour!?), and weak sound. All that for 24 bucks. Don't know if they were just tired at the end of their tour or if they're capitalizing on old fans (show was sold out in advance).

by Supercore on 7/20/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKAwesome fun. CIbo Matto played their classics and some newer material too. Drummer was tight! Miho Hattori, the lead singer, has great stage presence and personality. The bandwas really having a good time.
