CAFÉ TACUBA IN CONCERT:
Grammy-winning Latin rock outfit Café Tacuba has been wowing audiences with their eclectic sound and adrenaline-fueled live shows ever since their self-titled 1992 debut album first made them superstars in their native Mexico. Since then the band has won over fans around the world with their dynamic blend of rock, electronica, and folk music traditions, becoming one of Mexico’s chief modern musical exports in the process. At their live shows the band delivers their celebratory music with energy to spare, amping the audience up with call-and-response vocals and dramatic builds and releases. Even though they sing exclusively in Spanish their catchy choruses and infectious rhythms transcend language, appealing to fans of all nationalities. Whether they’re encouraging ticket buyers to clap along to the anthemic “Los Pajaros” or busting out solos on exotic indigenous instruments, Café Tacuba always delivers high-energy sets that fuse wildly diverse sounds into one cohesive and unforgettable concert experience.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Café Tacuba formed in Mexico City in 1989 while singer Ruben Albarran and guitarist Jose Alfredo Rangel were studying graphic design at the city’s Metropolitan Autonomous University. The band’s early sound was heavily influenced by British new wave bands like The Cure and The Smiths, but soon they were incorporating Mexican and indigenous influences to represent their heritage. After performing mostly in garages in the suburban neighborhood of Satelite the group became a fixture of the burgeoning music and arts scene surrounding the Coyoacan area of Mexico City. Their self-titled 1992 debut album combined genres like punk, ska, and hip hop with regional Mexican styles like bolero and ranchera, spawning five popular singles and earning them a Premio Lo Nuestro award for Video of the Year (“Maria”). A string of successful albums followed including 2003’s Cuatro Caminos, which won a Grammy for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album. In addition to their celebrated recordings the band is a touring juggernaut known for their explosive live performances, and they continue to impress every time they hit the road.
Great concert and venue. Perfect security . Concert on time
Café Tacuba is like a good wine, the years pass by, and the music gets better, performance like it was 30+ years ago.
This venue was great and organized, the patrons were nice and polite to each other, show started on time for the opening act, great experience, main act had great energy as always!
The band was incredible! As always! The venue however was incredibly hot, I saw a few people having to leave due to what looked like a heat stroke, I stood in the back and wasn’t able to see the band and the sound wasn’t great since it seemed like I was in a spot farther away from the stage. The band was a hit but the venue wasn’t.
The venue was way too small. We couldn't see the band .. only thru a big screen jn the back of the venue .. I can do that at home for free The did not sing 24 hrs, esta noche, rarotonga and ingrata which is iconic !!! Feel robbed.
Amazing concert! I can’t believe I got to see them. This concert is considered as one of my highlight performances of this year
Best Cafe Tacuva concert that I’ve been! The venue was the perfect place for them! we were so close to them and everyone was engaged dancing and singing! I hope they continue to come to this venue every year!!!
The show was great, we love Cafe Tacuba. We go to Revolution Live frequently. I don't know what happened that day, but it was too hot. The day after, we went again and saw The Midnight Live, and the AC was on.
The venue was oversold in my opinion. There were too many people, it was super packed especially near the pit stairways. There was leaking pipes above us near the south bar and not a lot of personal room between us and other people.
Great band but too many people. The venue was quiet small for the amount of tickets sold
The whole show was amazing and the band was the best. I also loved the opening band. Sumer stage concerts are so fun.
It was my first time in New York. And also the first time I saw Cafe Tacuba and it was great .
Increíble concert love Cafe Tacvba and it was well organized. Security and everything.
One of the best Mexican bands. Amazing concert Amazing venue Amazing vibes!!!
I feel very good energy and I really enjoy this concert, cafeta tacvba soo great! I
It was a great show love all the songs have listened to their music since 92 or 93 and the show they have it's just awesome is like a connection with the public that it's hard to say it with words but amazing feelings being there.
The absolute best concert I’ve ever been to. They were in rare form! The venue was amazing and the sunset was wonderful as they performed some of their greatest hits!
It was beyond amazing, saw them over 20 years ago and they didn’t disappoint. Have the privilege to share that experience with my sons
After the band tells us they haven't been to summerstage for a long time the played almost none of their hits, they played like 3 of them. Everyone was disappointed after the show waiting for them to preform the rest of the songs everyone loves. They also talked about politics between which I came to see a concert, there was no reason to talk about politics. The rest was alright the 20 dollar tickets were the only good thing.
Great Show , place was nice and organized Good food and drinks selection we have a good time!!
