I’ve heard Brownout on KUTX and I very much enjoy the covers they do with horned instruments. Very creative and original. I thought that this show would be more soul full. The musicians and back up singers for each band rocked. The lead singer of Nane was far too flamboyant, what with the playing with his hair routinely. It was pointed out how he would benefit from voice lessons, and that this is why he displayed the bravado. In fact, the back up singer/guitarist had a better voice, better pitch. The lyrics of their songs were shallow, for each band. It was good dance music, though. Given the skill of the musicians, the lead singers don’t do them justice. Nane has a single that’s played on KUTX. It’s rhythmic and catchy and reminiscent of Stevie Wonder...but without the soul.
