Bobby Vee and Friends was Great!!

by MelRoy on 8/30/09Paramount Arts Center - Ashland

I loved the music and the performance was top notch. Bobby Vee's two sons played in the band and one of them kept us laughing with his antics. Johnny Tillotson was magnificent as was Shirley Reeves of the Shirelles. Fabian was a great entertainer with his antics and statements. All of the artists were available for autographs.

    It was an ok show.

by mammaD on 8/28/09Paramount Arts Center - Ashland

I was so disgusted with the artists that Not ONE of them mentioned that Peter and Gordon were in the original line up. Fabian was a sub and HE didn't even mention Gordon's death. He was a sad sub. I bought the tickets before Mr. Waller's death and it would have made it all worth while if SOMEONE would have given Peter and Gordon recognition. There were flowers on the stage (I wish I had asked why when I was there). Too late now. RIP Mr. Waller At least one person was thinking of you last night.

    Bobby Vee & Friends

by Huntington on 8/28/09Paramount Arts Center - Ashland

We had a great time. They were all great to listen to and brought back alot of memories. Still great entertainment after all these years. Very approachable as well, they hung around afterwards to sign autographs or just shake a hand.

Bobby Vee & Merrilee were beyond amazing!!!!

by Badlander on 7/15/09Lucky Eagle Casino - Rochester

Well all we can say is that these two performers are alot like a fine wine, they almost seem to have gotten better with age. Truly amazing performances by both, and the band. WOW what an awesome, talented, & gifted group of musicians. You could feel the energy flowing from both of them,as well as the band, their voices like a travel back in time

    Merilee Rush and Bobby Vee

by khah on 7/14/09Lucky Eagle Casino - Rochester

Marilee Rush was phenomenal. What a beautiful person and her energy was incredible. I enjoyed the film clips about her life as well. I actually did not realize until the concert that she was from Washington. Bobby Vee and family were awesome. They are a talented group--I was enthralled to discover that they had stayed together as a family and provided such great entertainment. I cannot remember a show that I have enjoyed as much as this one. It is delightful to see a family that has been able to stay together and entertain others. When they tossed the balls into the audience it seemed everyone was engaged and wanted to participate.

A great step back in time

by JROldFan on 7/14/09Lucky Eagle Casino - Rochester

It was a real treat to hear the old songs by the original while the Bobby Vee's sons provided the energy reserved for the younger generation.

    Merrilee Rush, still fun!

by Mazie on 7/14/09Lucky Eagle Casino - Rochester

We had forgotten how many big hits Bobby Vee had during his glory days, so much fun to be reminded of those songs. His voice may not be quite what it was but he had such wonderful stage prescence, his ethusiasum and the interaction with his 2 sons (band members) certainly made for a wonderful show. My husband enjoyed Bobby Vee's portion of the show I on the otherhand was so taken with Merrilee Rush. She had a voice very similar to her early years, just a bit more Janice Joplin like - what fun!! We really enjoyed her bubbley personality and sense of humor. Would we go see either again? In a heartbeat!
