Banda Cuisillos de Arturo MacĂas -- or, Banda Cuisillos for short -- are a long-running Mexican Banda group from Tala, Jalisco. Together since 1987, the prolific outfit are well known for incorporating piano and electric guitar into their songs, setting them apart from typical brass Bandas. They also are known for donning Native American costumes during live performances in a tribute to their ethnic heritage. They've been nominated for three Grammys and won a Latin Grammy for 2001's Puras Rancheras Con Cuisillos.
Banda Cuisillos was first formed by clarinetist Arturo MacĂas when he was still just a teenager. Initially called Banda Cuisillos Musical de Arturo MacĂas, the group recorded their self-titled debut album in 1993; it contained their first major hit, "El Perro Aguayo."
In 1994, the band shared their sophomore effort, Las Mil Y Una Noches, and the title track was a major hit. The following year saw the release of their third album, DĂŠjate Llevar. That same year, they dropped the "musical" from their name and became Banda Cuisillos de Arturo MacĂas. DĂŠjate Llevar featured two big singles: the title track and "DĂŠjame Entrar." Around this time, Banda Cuisillos also began to experiment with honing their now-famous Native American stage costumes.
In 1996, Cuisillos released their fourth album: Como Sufro. The album became their first Gold record, selling more than 100,000 copies. With the release of Como Sufro, Cuisillos began to wear Native American costumes in all of their live performances and on album covers. Vocalist Ramiro Cuarenta also departed from the band and was replaced by Bruno de JesĂşs (also known as Voz de Trueno), who stayed with the group until 2009.
In 1997, the band released their next album, Te Amo, which earned the group another Gold record and housed a number of well-received ballads: "Te Quiero," "Te Amo," and "ÂżPor Que Te Fuiste?" The success of these singles inspired Banda Cuisillos to lean more into penning ballads, as opposed to cumbias, which had been a focus of the band's sound up until then.
Cuisillos released their sixth studio album, AcuĂŠrdate De Mi!, in 1998, and it featured three singles: "AcuĂŠrdate De Mi," "Ya No Me Mires AsĂ," and "Es Amor Lo Que Hay En Ti." Achieving double gold status, AcuĂŠrdate De Mi! became the group's second biggest-selling project. At this time, they altered their name once more to be Cuisillos de Arturo MacĂas.
Their platinum seventh album, A Veces Lloro, followed in 1999, and it became the group's best-selling album to date. Hasta La Eternidad followed that same year.
Cuisillos released a whopping more than 10 albums between 2000 and 2007, including Despertando Una Leyenda (2000), Puras Rancheras (2001), Nuevos Horizontes (2001), Homenaje a Joan Sebastian (2002), No Voy a Llorar (2002), CorazĂłn (2003), Mas AllĂĄ de la Nada (2004), Luz y Vida del Nuevo Milenio (2004), El Concierto del Amor (2005), Descontrolado (2005), RancherĂsimo (2006), and Amor Gitano (2006). In 2007, they teamed with Espinoza Paz to work on the massively successful album Mil Heridas, which became the band's first Gold record in seven years.Â
In 2008, Cuisillos released their 22nd album, Vive y DĂŠjame Vivir, which was followed by Vientos De Cambio in 2009.

Went out to have some fun at the concert, good people security always on the lookout for any trouble. Great experience.
They put on such a great show and are so nice to their Fans. The security on another hand, were not too nice. They wouldnât let you get even close to the band, even when the band was telling you it was ok.
It was by far one of the best concerts i have been to. My husband and myself had a great time. They put on a really good show.
