Great game - seeing upcoming talent for the Orioles at a great price, very nice stadium right off I-95 :-)
If you like baseball and you live in the greater Baltimore area, you should visit the Ironbirds in Ripken Stadium at least once. The facility is easy to get to, they offer lots of ballpark fun and food. The Ironbirds lost but we still had a nice time. This experience is affordable for those who can't find a way to see the Birds play at Camden Yards. Even the food was more reasonably priced.
I paid my $36 for two seats to the Aberdeen ball yard, expecting to have somewhat decent seats somewhere down one of the baselines. Much to my surprise, we were sitting immediately behind the plate in the fifth row of seats. Amazing view and amazing seats for an extremely low cost! I couldn't believe how excellent our seats were compared to the price! Food was a little on the pricey side, but we certainly more than made up for the overpriced food with the terrific seats!
It would have been more enjoyable if it were not for the two loud mouth poor sports who could not keep there opinions to themselves that were sitting right behind me. Other than that it was a good game and went to the ninth tied before the Lake Monsters scored another run taking the win.
Even though Aberdeen is a distance for me to travel, I try to get to at least one game a season. The ballpark is "comfortable" and the prices are reasonable compared to other venues like this. Friendliness of staff and cleanliness of the rest rooms (even at the end of the game) are little things that makes going to see the Ironbirds worh a drive. We actually saw the Ironbirds win! I would highly recommend going to an Ironbirds game if you like baseball.
What a pleasant experience! The stadium is one of the most fan-friendly venues and is very well-kept and clean. All eminities are clearly marked and the overall beauty of the stadium is superb. The staff was extremely friendly and catered to the fans wishes. The events during the game for the fans were very entertaining and family-oriented and were well received by the fans. This was my first minor league game in over 30 years and I really enjoyed the entire evening. What a great place to bring your family that won't break your wallet. I plan on making a return visit in the very near future. Oh, and there was also a baseball game plalyed. I almost forgot.
My son is playing for the Ironbirds this year, so of course it's an amazing event for me. It's a wonderful stadium, great family atmosphere and a very welcoming and friendly crowd.
The tickets were ready for pick up when we arrived. Great baseball game, Great night of entertainment
Stadium is easy to get to from I-95; leaving wasn't too bad, either. No surprises as far as food quality/prices go - the usual ballpark fare at high prices, even for a minor league park. I purchased one large soda, a cheese pretzel, a regular pretzel, and a bag of peanuts and was charged $16.00. I didn't get the peanuts, and it was too late (stand closed) before I realized it. But the stadium itself is great - staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and not a bad seat in the house. The Ripkin tradition of excellence shines through this arena! Oh yeah - the entertainment was cute; we liked the "Price is Right" game the best!
Had great seats 3 rows from the field to the left of home plate. The game looked like a blowout at 8-1 in the second. However, the visiting team made it a battle by climbing back into the game and making it a tie at 10-10 in the 9th. Ironbirds brought in a side arm pitcher, wqho after 3 innings got into trouble, which resulted in a 14-10 loss. The fireworks after the game were very good for 20 minutes and no additional cost. Overall a GREAT game to watch as it became the longest game in Ironbirds history at almost 4 hours.
Ballpark was awesome and super kid friendly....highly recommend it!
