About

Since its formation by multi-talented musician and songwriter Aaron Bruno in 2010, AWOLNATION has redefined alternative music. With multiple radio hits at the alternative format, including 8 Top Fives and 2 Number Ones, the act has inarguably already made a permanent mark, not just in their genre, but across modern music. Most notably, the chart-topping, record-breaking, diamond-certified track "Sail" created a reference soundscape for a myriad of hits in the last decade. That song launched a career that already spans four albums. Megalithic Symphony, the platinum debut LP that also produced the gold certified "Not Your Fault" and two other Top 10 US singles. Sophomore album Run arrived in 2015, and the follow-up, Here Come The Runts, came in 2018. Then entering a creative partnership with current label Better Noise music, the band's fourth full-length album, ANGEL MINERS & THE LIGHTNING RIDERS, featuring the hit single "The Best," was released on April 24, 2020, and features collaborations with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer and Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. In their positive review of the project, AllMusic calls it, "an energetic, fun, and compulsively listenable set that distills the best of what AWOLNATION can do: making pop-savvy, dance-friendly, alternative rock anthems that are not bound to traditional genre conventions."

That boundary breaking of genres continued in Bruno's creative calling, even more so as the world shut down in 2020. While quarantining, Bruno had the idea to celebrate music unapologetically with a team of talented friends - new and old. The result is the new album My Echo, My Shadow, My Covers and Me, a collection of unexpected yet passionately crafted covers and collaborations. Launched with the first single in January 2022, a powerful rendition of "Wind of Change," featuring Portugal the Man and Brandon Boyd of Incubus, the album also features guest performances by Beck, Rise Against, Jewel, grouplove and many others. The homage paid to each song's original artist is just as fun to dive into as the mutual respect heard in every note from both AWOLNATION and guests.

Recently, AWOLNATION has brought venues to capacity like The Fillmore (Minneapolis) and the T-Mobile Center (Kansas City).

This was one of 6 concerts I saw in 2022, and saw some big names, and 2 years later I am still listening to the set list from this concert because it was just FIRE! such a variety of hits and I am just anxiously awaiting the next concert! I danced by butt off, banged my head, and just felt all the feels during this concert. absolutely a recommend for anyone who likes music lol.

Been a fan of Awolnation from the beginning, saw them at the intersection in GR years back and now at 20 Monroe. Great music, energy, and a great venue to see any of your favorite concerts.

by EMBY on 9/25/23GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand Rapids

I've attended almost 20 shows this year and this was one of the best. Great atmosphere, eclectic all ages crowd there to listen to THE Awolnation! So great...The opener Irontom was slick Indie funk rock and so much fun! 'Be Bold Like Elijah' - hit! Our headliner never fails to impress! Took the crowd on a tour through the mind of Bruno! Thanks for a great night!

    Best time

    by Awol62 on 11/28/22Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

The preferred parking was great, but really expensive. The Palladium venue was awesome, but the ADA seating was so far away from the stage. The sound system was terrific, it really brought to life the AWOL songs... both the lightness and the heavy bass sounds. The lighting was inspirational and brought to life the songs. The temperate in the venue was nice and cool and allowed Aaron and the band to really be electric, exciting and energized. They played so many of their great and memorable songs/it was a great night.

Seriously, one of my favorite artists. Aaron is the mastermind behind AWOLNATION and is always so fun to be at one of their shows. Prepare to jump and have a good time because if you aren't, you are not doing it right.

    Up close and personal

by Sleepy D on 11/16/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Forgot I had floor tickets, so I was very thankful for coat check. Loved being so close to the bands. Sound was great. Energy was high. Feel blessed to have been at what felt like such an intimate show. The theater is one of my favs to see shows at now. Only downside was the jerk who insisted on smoking a joint and doing shots from airplane bottles right behind me.
