An excellent production! The dancing and singing were superb and I enjoyed it a lot.
We had such an amazing time. The show was better than expected. We couldn't stop laughing in most acts. Great performances by the cast.
I really enjoyed this musical. The actors did a good job. They made very good use of the small space they had. The dancing was great and so were the quick set changes. I am a huge fan of the original musical, so I was a little disappointed that they didn't sing all of the original songs and instead sang some songs I was not familiar with, but they still did great! This version had some added humor that kept the audience laughing. It was very good overall and is very enjoyable.
It was a beautiful production. The cast was wonderful. Their voices were incredible. The dancing was exceptional. The acting was delightful. The costumes were charming with such attention to detail. It was all extremely well done. Thank you.
What a fun show! Lots of high energy dancing. The cast was well prepared, well coordinated with their dancing and singing and put on a great show. Well done!
The play was so enjoyable, the cast was great!!!!!
Never thought a production could be better than the original 1954 film, but this was,. Great casting, The leads were exceptional, the entire cast lively, the choreography even better then Michael Kid's original. Too bad a snow storm kept a lot of people from attending, but the ones who were there gave the cast a standing ovation - an enjoyable, fun evening!
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was worth every bit of the travel through the snow to be there! Fun show - great music - great evening.
7 Brides for 7 Brothers was amazing. The Singing and Dancing and Acting were as good as any Broadway musical that I have seen. That being said I have seen over 30 Musicals on Broadway. This show was such a refreshing surprise. Many times the traveling shows lack much of the heart that Broadway exudes but this performance was flawless. From the two leads down through the whole ensemble I couldn't have been more pleased or enjoyed it more. Thank You for an unforgettable evening. The evening that we saw the play there was a big snow storm outside. The trip was definitely worth going out in the bad weather. This was also our first experience at the Santander Theater and we were very pleased with the Theater as well as everyone who was working there. The friendly atmosphere just added to the incredible play. Again Thank You for a great evening!!!
The performance was super! The show was lively and fun, and the talent was excellent. The venue was adequate. We loved the live orchestra!
This was such a wonderful evening. Singing and dancing was unbelieveable. It was a fabulous evening.
The singing was beautiful. The dresses were very colorful and matched their "beau's" shirts. The dancing was very energetic and some of it was quite difficult looking.
We thoroughly enjoyed the musical! The original 7 Brides for 7 Brothers is one of our family's favorite musicals and this one was every bit as good! "Adam" did an exemplary job in his role. The only downside is that it was a tad racier than the original and was unnecessary (the make-out scene with everyone on the floor) - could have kept that a little lighter, but overall I give it a 10 :)
Fantastic singing, great sets, excellent choreography and dancers. Everything was top notch!! We were blown away by the costuming and actors. However there was one point in the choreography that seemed out of character and certainly out of the time period this play was set in. This was the "spring" dance in the woods- felt too sexual and frankly a little uncomfortable. That was the only portion we felt was lacking. Overall we thought it was excellent.
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is one of my friends favorite movies. I saw that there was a play in the Sun Times and thought it would be a perfect gift for Christmas and something to go see together. I never heard that this was a play before so I had no idea what to expect. I was just praying that she wouldn't be disappointed! Needless to say, the performance was amazing! The play held true to the story from the movie. The acting and dancing was flawless! Drury Lane is this cute intimate theater where every seat it a good one. It was a great experience, my friend was so happy, & I couldn't have asked for more! I absolutely recommend this play and this theater.
It was a very enjoyable productuion, we had a very good time, and plan on investigating future productions
I took my Mom to see this play at Drury Lane, and we were both thrilled with the performance. The dance & song performances were top quality. The entire show was very entertaining with consistent high energy. You got a real feel for each of the brothers different personalities & several of the brides, as well. The sets & how they manipulated the various pieces was almost genius in the design, and almost seamlessly transitioned from one to another. The actors in all the major parts were a joy to watch & just drew you into the story. The actor that played Adam was incredible & the newbie actress who played the youngest brother's (Gideon) bride was perfect for the part. I'd go see this again in a heartbeat. While in the past few years I've seen 10 or so different plays at Drury lane, and they always do a really great job. This was my favorite.
The play was wonderful. Energetic, entertaining, and exciting. The scenery was spectacular.
The play was well cast. The actors played their roles well and had quality voices. I was pleasantly surprised at how much humor was used in the play, making it a fun and enjoyable treat!. Given the size of the stage, the scenery was extensive, realistic and added a great deal to the overall feeling of the play. The choreography was professionally done and the dancers performance was excellent and exciting. All in all, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers was a uplifting and enjoyable treat!
An excellent cast! Adam reminded me of James Arness on Gunsmoke. Each actor played his/her part to the nth degree. It was an updated version of the old movie/play. Great music, harmonies, emotions. Of all the plays that I've seen at Oakbrook's Drury lane my two favorites were MAME and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers! The latter being 1st choice for me! I HIGHLY recommend seeing it.......even for those macho guys who don't like musicals. They will certainly enjoy this one! JCDLL
