10 great bands (+ bonus bands) over 2 days. It's just a DREAM.
As always the format included newer/less known bands to discover (at least as far as I am concerned) and big headliners.
Nobody was bad, but some bands were more in the category of "opening bands" (and placed there accordingly).
Some of the bands I didn't know were a great discovery: PHIDEAUX and SIZYGY in particular were spectacular and I think they found a lot of new fans at that festival. Great craftsmanship, guitar (and also keybord and drum) HEROES and great voices. People who have the skills and who can put them together for a very artistic and outstanding result.
The headliners didn't disappoint either: IQ and GLASS HAMMER were outstanding, and IT BITES was excellent as well, albeit more "pop" (but it's a question of personal taste and opinion at some point). KING'S X was great too but not every one puts them in their top 5 (again, a question of personal taste - but a positive point for a festival to include diverse styles or substyles).
Add to this a pretty good sound in the venue, very friendly and down to earth crowd of people who are there because they love music and love to share it, the ability to meet the bands, chat and get autographs. This is beyond the average concert goer expectations, but not unexpected for a prog festival. In 3 words IT WAS GREAT - and my last words to say DON'T MISS IT NEXT YEAR
