I was anticipating Soul Asylum's set but was somewhat disappointed at only playing 7 songs, leaving out hits Black/Gold and Just Like Anyone. The songs they did play were solid and there was only a 15-minute break leading in Collective Soul's set. As expected, 3 Doors Down set was straight-forward rock and roll, and they played all their hits, but it was Collective Soul that was the most entertaining. Their new songs fit right in with their classic guitar riff songs, and I'm not a big fan of bands pushing new stuff when they are not getting any airplay and leaving out hits. For the size venues they are playing, this is a summer show where you get your money's worth and then some.
