    Not my favorite Disney musical

by Flan70 on 3/15/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

We were very disappointed with "101 Dalmatians - The Musical". The songs were forgettable and two of the classics songs from the movie weren't even included ("Cruella de Vil" and "Dalmatian Plantation"). The dialogue was hard to understand throughout the event. This wasn't something that was very entertaining for small children (under 7). We saw some families leave at intermission and not return. Honestly, we've seen better productions at Walt Disney World.

The entire family loved it. Great use of stilts for people characters and the way the real dogs were woven into scenes.

    Take it or leave it.

by MusicalMomof2 on 3/14/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I took my two children, ages 5 and 7, to 101 Dalmations. The first half was really slow, not a lot of action, and you hardly saw any of the "real" dalmations. Both kids were constantly asking to leave. After intermission, the second half got more interesting, more action, and you saw more of the "real" dogs, which kept the kids interest pretty well. The musical didn't really follow the traditional story. I also felt that it was talked-up a lot for the inclusion of the "real" dalmations, so I expected, as did my children, to see a lot more of them than I did. Overall, an average experience, but not something I would go see again or highly recommend as a "must-see".

    101 Dalmations

I was mislead into thinking there was going to be ALOT more real dogs in play. I was disappointed, as was my grandson.

    101 Dalmations was awesome

by cbdance on 3/14/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

This was a really cute production. We all loved it and the live dogs were a great added touch. We weren't sure how they would incorporate the live dogs but they did and it was great. It was really fun to watch.

101 Dalmatians was wonderful!! I took my 86 year old mother and we both enjoyed it immensely. The cast was fantastic and it was fun watching the "real" canines scamper across the stage periodically. I would recommend it to kids of all ages!

This was my 5 year old's first experience at a top of the line musical. She loved it and so did I. What a great mom/daughter day.

    101 Dalmations musical is exceptional!

by Snowman47130 on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The musical was a fine representation of the entire Disney story. The singers were powerful easily understood. The children were exceptional singers and dancers, simply amazing! The trained Dalmation dogs were intermixed into each scene with a progressive enhancement of their abilities all throughout the play. Their finale was purely (p)awesome to watch. The training of the dogs was done very well. The history of the dogs was also a great story. Sara Gettelfinger has a beautiful and powerful voice that projected the vile role of Cruella De Vil through and through. I would recommend this musical to people of all ages. The excitement in the finale was superb.

    Darling Dalmatians?

by indymomof2 on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

If you are looking for Disney's 101 Dalmatians in musical form this is not it. The musical moved very slow and did not hold the attention of my 4 year old who is a musical fanatic. The live dogs were very cute definitely the high point of the performance but their stage time was limited to 5-10 minutes throughout the entire show. On the plus side, the actress who played Cruella de Vil was phenomenal- a gifted singer who carried the show. Also, unrelated to the performance itself, there is usually an opportunity to have pictures with one of the dogs in the show. For some reason the meet and greet was cancelled after the show we attended which was a great disappointment to my kids.

    101 Dalmatians Musical

by TheGrandMarkE on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

Loved the musical. Excellent stage props and lighting. I went specifically for the music (Dennis DeYoung), and for the most part really enjoyed it. I was disappointed that there was no soundtrack for sale (that I saw). The kids (6, 5, and 4) really enjoyed the dogs. It is very hard to keep young childrens' attention during a musical, and this one was no different. I wished that they would have utilized the real dogs much more than they did. The kids would have been better captivated. The actors on stilts was very interesting! Everyone's performance was flawless - and each voice simply incredible. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 - if the live dogs had been more involved it would have been a 5. Definitely one of the best performances to attend. Don't miss it!

    AWESOME!!

by ConcreteAngel78 on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The performance kept all 4 children's attention and taught a valuable lesson about family values and acceptance of others. Radio Disney was present prior to the performance and ROCKED THE HOUSE! The kids LOVED it!! Definitely a 5-star night!

    101 Dalmations was Cool!

by IzzyBanana on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

From a 3 & 5 year old: We liked the dogs and how they showed off - the real dogs were the best part! We liked the songs. From parents: The kids really enjoyed it, which was the point. We've seen children's shows that were more entertaining for adults, and the music was just ok. Not our favorite show, but if you're going for the kids, it's great.

by cindyfromindy on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

Was a great show - a little loud for my tastes but fun, entertaining and just the right length. I think a lot of people thought the real dogs would do more - they didn't. This is n't as good as the lion king - that was amazing but the actors do a nice job and the music was great.

    Disappointed in 101 Dalmations musical

by Anonymous on 3/13/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

We were very disappointed in the musical. We wanted to see the show because my four year old daughter loves the animated movie but she was especially very disappointed because the musical didn't follow the animated movie as much as we expected and she had a difficult following the musical. The show didn't even include the "Cruella Deville" song. The presentation of the content was more targeted to adult audiences than to kids. We expected it to be more child-friendly. The actress playing Cruella was phenomenal. The real dalmations were adorable.

I brought my girlfriend to see 101 Dalmatians, and we had a great time. The way it was an original story, while still following some nostalgic ideas from the Disney version. It was fun for the whole family!

    Really cute!

by lisalisah on 3/11/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

This was a great show, very kid friendly, and entertaining to children and adults. The actors were talented. And, it was clever having those who were the people (not the dogs) on stilts, so that they were much taller than those playing the dogs. There wasn't a lot of "depth" to the show, but it was very enjoyable!! Glad we went!

    Great Family Fun

by indynetman on 3/11/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I took my 9 year old son to see the show. He was smiling from ear to ear all through the performance. All of the performers did a great job, especially the children. Great story for the children, with a bit of adult humor thrown in.
